Re: Clutch Bleeding - BMW Factory Method
I believe your problem is the master cylinder, not the slave. Is there any sign of leakage from the slave, i.e.fluid coming from the bottom of the bellhousing? If not, the master is failing.

Unless it's a 98 point concours car, why worry about it? Use what makes you happy, period-correct be hanged.

Re: Check out this thrashed throw out bearing - not BMW
I save the busted transmission parts to remind me it's not a good idea to rawhide a car ever time you drive it. I kept the flex plate to remind me to thouroughly diagnose a problem before diving in with expensive results. The flex plate was in a 1970 baseline Firebird with a very much warmed over 35...

Re: Check out this thrashed throw out bearing - not BMW
Back in my misspent youth I had a box of broken car parts. Cluster gears with teeth knocked off, broken synchronizer rings (I was hard on transmissions) rod bearing beaten to pieces, a broken flex plate. I called it "The Misery Box". It may still be in a dark corner of my garage.

That throwout bearing reminds me of some of the "Just Rolled In" videos on YouTube. Car parts utterly destroyed due to ignorance and/or lack of maintenance.

Re: Should both wires be hot at injector plug?
One wire should have continuous 12v with the key on, but not both. The injectors are fired by grounding through the DME (BMWese for ECU). If you have 12v on both, you have a shorted/failed DME.

Wow! Has it really been 8 years? Your thread is truly a story of patience and persistence, probably the best thread on BigCoupe.com, I'm sure many would agree. Congrats, and I hope you have many more years of joy and adventures with your E24. I wonder what happened to the E9 that was in the same bar...

I'll take them. Never heard of Paypal friends & family. What's the difference to regular Paypal? Bob V If you pay with Paypal "Friends and Family" you have ZERO buyer protection. I am NOT saying Doug will rip you off. I'm saying if you pay with the normal "Goods and Services"...

Re: 1984 633CSi Rises again!
The fuel pump relay powers up when the key is turned to start, but if the DME doesn't "see" the crankshaft turning from pulses at the position sensor it shuts off power to the relay. To jumper the relay you need a connection to both 87, 30 AND 86. The DME kills power to 85/86 if it doesn't...

I don't know if it's true, but I was told the reason no cup holders was you are supposed to be driving while in the car, not drinking.

Re: Headlight Help!
Check the unloader relay. It temporarily turns off your high-draw items like headlights while cranking the engine. I've never had one fail, but it could possibly be part of the problem with both the wonky headlights and the phantom battery drain.

Nearly 15 years, it's got to be close. I'm just glad that sauber searched and bumped it instead of just starting another thread. Props to him! As to the question, realoem.com shows the mirror body as one piece. We know the body is 2+ pieces, but how they come apart isn't shown. I'd hate to break one...
