Sandblasted kidneys restored
810DB038-ADA4-4AAD-90FA-BDFA88F35979.jpeg So while putting repainted car back together decided to have a go at the sandblasted kidneys. Worst case I ruin them and have to fork out the 700.00 for a new pair so worth a shot. Started out with a good dawn cleaning then started to sand . First with 320,...

Alpina’s look great on the red with black centers.
Are those aftermarket 17” open lug?
Been trying to find way to convert my original closed lug Alpina’s with center caps to open like yours but center caps are a problem.

Re: Side mirror trim
Got the plate with the adhered glass off by prying gently with trim tool till the four round pegs came free. Still the plastic cover seems unmovable. No release from inside as you can see. I can wedge it off a bit from painted cover but something is holding it down. There has got to be some kind of ...

Awsome video
Really helps seeing how things are connected before starting pulling pushing twisting. Most Things are pretty brittle on a 30+/- yr car.
Have panels off ready to go at it in prep for paint. Only looking to get handles off as i Have OE shadowline replacements.
Here goes

Clean
Where was it done. Nor Cal?
Tell us about process .
What did it cost?
Does cost depend on degree of grime?
How long did it take etc etc etc.
Appreciate input .
Love to have my undersides match my top sides

Re: Refinished strut bar brackets, powder coated not chrome!
Just checked my cable bracket and it does clear the red steel bar I obtained from Walloth & Nesh by a very small margin.
I did have a RD bar on another 88M6 and did not have any problems with that one either.

Re: Coolant level connector
Again thanks all. Received Ralph’s e34 connector, bit of soldering and all good. The e34 part looks exactly like the pelican part pic. Who knows maybe the e34’s connector had been replaced with the pelican part? Thought about just opening the connector up and just installing my females but didn’t wa...

Re: Plastic restoration
If I remember correctly , there are 3 screws behind door weatherstripping , just pull back to expose them. I believe that’s all fasteners. Just wiggle it out if I remember. Mine were badly pitted thus the sandpaper routine. Something like 320 then progressively finer till I got scratches out and a p...
