I forgot to add this update: My clutch problem was only the master cylinder hose!! When I first brought Buster to my mechanic, Bob, I told him specifically to change ALL the hoses & belts!! Obviously, he didn't!! I have to figure a way to attack him gently, but, he deserves to be attacked! Again...

Can you show a picture of your gearshift leather cover? I need one with a zipper.
Hope I'm first in line?

I've heard or read that the Euros have a red fan & for the US Mkt. it was black.
That is,, from the factory. Buster has a black one. I assume replaced by an owner.

I totally agree about the sound!! 8) I think what he was saying was that Buster's sound was big w/o being intrusive? I was leaving so I didn't take time to ask. I LUV Buster's sound! 8) :D If you dudes would post exactly how I should shoot the sound with my Samsung S4, whatever, I will try. Promise!...

I wish I could but, I can't download or upload a picture, sound bite or video! Very sad indeed, huh? I'm lost in this new world. You could also add a second muffler if it's too loud for the wifey. Also #2: I suggest using as large a pipe as you can and have them make the front pipe male, inse...

CLUTCH ISSUES

Things are piling up on me. Now, my clutch pedal comes up but, the workings seem to not dis-engage! Meaning Buster stays in gear. I nursed him home about two miles by timing the lights & turning the key off at stop lights. Turned him over on green lights & he was in gear already. It was a gr...

Gotcha! I have what I said plus a six inch oblong Magnaflow muffler at the rear with no center muffler. Buster has a deep throated rumble at idle & a very nice low sound while accelerating. Plus, no 2,000 rpm drone that seems to be unpopular. At the tire shop lately, I was asked by a worker if I...

Manual roll-ups

Till I get the wiring in the window switches figured out, I pulled the cap off the doorcard that I thought rolled up the window manually,,but, nope. I found it to be 13/16" , spark plug size but, it just seems to freewheel. I don't wanna spin it too far do I? Both windows are open to about 3 in...

Song
To find that 'c' clip maybe get a small flashlight from Autozone or wherever and a smaller mirror.
Use either a two ft. coiled retriever with a claw & plunger or a magnet.
It's worth a try.

Try a mom & pop reputable shop & have them build one to fit.
It'll also be cheaper, I bet. Mine cost me $200 the receipt says.
But, I replaced it only from the cat. back with 2 1/2" pipe.

Good thought, Ralph. My Grip mind is kickin' in.
Maybe dis-assemble and spray paint them with a rust inhibitor after a good wire brush scrub?

Great tip about the ratchet straps! Maybe from Home Depot?
Also, get the ones with the higher pulling weight.
You can attach one end to the other so only the strap wraps around the coils.
Or, maybe the straps will have plastic covers on the hooks.
This is also Grip equipment so I know how to use them.

Welcome, your E24 looks good from Long Beach! Keep her covered with a good carnuba wax while the mechanics are taken care of. Even after,,,, of course! Also, some tend to forget the steering wheel! Get a good leather cleaner & food for the interior. I like Mequiare's products. Along with Griot's...
