WTB: Fender Wing- Left side Series I
Left side Series 1 fender/wing. Ok if it's in need of minor body work.

Re: Unibody rust weld repair
I see that the "frame rails" are the appropriate part to jack on. Mine are dented pretty good (that's the condition they were in when I acquired the car)

Re: Unibody rust weld repair
Golly, its such a convenient jacking point (I use a rectangular piece of wood in there). I think I'm just going to cut the rust, clean it up, treat the underlying metal and reinforce it.

Unibody rust weld repair
I will load the pic soon but I have a rust hole above the front jack point. The jack point is weakened but mostly intact. Peek-a-boo, wire harness. https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4663/25796656538_5867a03342_k.jpg Unibody rust hole above left front jack point. by Matt Squirsh , on Flickr Im making so...

Re: 1979 633csi emissions without thermal reactors
Congrats on the acquisition. New Mexico is emissions friendly, just saying. Even in Abq, over 35 years old is the golden number for emissions exempt. Check to see what year your cylinder head is, the one I just replaced was a 79' and it was cracked.

Nah. Would trade for a Z4 with the little 4 banger turbo and six speed. Just wait a few years and hold out for that trade!

rocker trim removal tool?
Howdy guys, I removed the fender for rust repairs and simply slid the rocker panel trim aft in order to facilitate removal. Could someone suggest a good prying tool? I was so scared of bending the trim. Also, are these clips #17 ? http://2009.bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/E24/Coupe/Europe/633CSi-M30/LH...

I used just a vise and a drill press. Some websites sell ready to go drilled head bolts. 1/16" or 3/32" bit.

need Distributor Vacuum Advance Mechanism
Known as a vacuum box.
Need a vacuum advance mechanism that actually holds vacuum and actuates smoothly or willing to buy whole good distributor for L-jetronic M30.

Re: cylinder head rebuild and L Jetronic injectors
I don't have a clue what I have besides cryptic stories from the previous owner of the full overhaul that was done by a mechanic in Italy. As far as I can tell, they went through everything since I see the same red RTV squeezed out of every seam. The block is original 1976, same VIN as the car. If t...

It's like they're trying to experiment on their already enamored clientele. Plastic water pump impellers, complex VANOS mechanisms, 15,000 miles oil changes. http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/showth ... p?t=868291
I'll be quiet now.

cylinder head rebuild and L Jetronic injectors
Howdy folks, I always knew I was nursing a cracked head for about 4 years. #4 cylinder to be exact. The oil never got contaminated and I mostly drove her gently. Mostly. Anyway, the head gasket finally blew. I'm now upgrading to a 1984 M90 head. The previous cracked unit is a 1979. I did all my due ...

FREE*** E28 based Air Flow Meter
Free, just pay me something reasonable for shipping. I originally got this from a German junkyard, it did not fit my 76'. I think it's from a Euro market 5 series. So condition is unknown, but you can take a gamble and say its good or just open it up to adjust it. BMW Fuel Injection Air Flow Meter 0...

Re: landsharks air conditioning overhaul
Update: I had to apply some anaerobic sealant to this low pressure junction. It's been working great for about 3 months. I simply scrubbed the brass threads with a nylon brush, cleaned with acetone, and applied the sealant. http://i484.photobucket.com/albums/rr210/zepplin64/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0520...

No more 20W-50 synthetic?
This is a rant for auto stores in the USA no longer carrying 20W-50 synthetic. I asked the guy what happened!?? Not enough cars on the road are using it. I guess for now on I need to go to the Harley Davidson or motorcycle store and buy their overpriced oil.

How to lock out your rear side window
I really don't get enough utility out of my rear windows to justify the work of rebuilding motors and regulators. Testing my collection of 4 spare motors has also proven that 3 barely function. The part I used is not available directly from BMW, but is available from most home improvement stores. It...
