Re: Pulling Rear Parcel Shelf '87 CSI, Pod Paint, etc

No you won't be able to remove the entire assembly with those 4 nuts. That is where you start the process though. Those are simply for holding down the forward section of the pods. The rear section are on hinges secured with small screws. Rear sections of Early pods are held down to the front with m...

Re: Differential questions

All correct information you have so far. Gear ratio information is correct and given the 3 speed auto a 3.46 would probably be near the extreme end for highway driving. My e34 5 speed is running 3.46 and 80 mph rpm is about 3k. That's higher than I prefer Your goal is critical to determine if you wa...

Be careful with aftermarket bleeder screws. Always seem to leak slowly

Inspect them a week after on road use to make sure everything is good

First add a good solid ground to the gauge cluster. Grounding is a typical issue with gauges and could be the reason for your dim light

The loose light may be for the "Light" script next to the switch

Re: No Power, Running Super Rich

You should verify that the ecu is proper for running without O2 sensor. I know a lot of euro motors ran well without an O2 sensor but their ecu was designed for it. I'm under the impression that US cars ran with O2 sensors and the corresponding ecu required O2 sensor input to run properly

Re: Heater wiring gen 1

Hopefully these help you out. Unfortunately these are from an e12 so wire colors may be different. White connector is from the controls. Black connector is from AC box. You can see a set of wires jammed between refrigeration lines. That goes to the heater box upper left in picture and comes from the...

Re: No Power, Running Super Rich

Have you looked at the O2 sensor? That will cause rich condition on failure. Readings should be +1V to -1V and fluctuate between the two

Basically any failed engine tune sensor defaults the ecu to rich condition to protect the engine.

I did a web search on that 0887 part number and it comes back as the 008 control unit. Sorry I do not have any 8 connector controllers.

I can't give advice on your attempts to make the 025 work. My electronics is not up to your level of knowledge. Good luck

I saw that the 008 control unit has several applications. Please enter your vin into realoem and research the proper control unit for your car. Just to verify what should be in place.

Re: 1983 633CSI fuel lines

Very simple lines. Feed and return lines originate next to the Dr side frame rail by the firewall. Engine bay side of the inner fender and access is limited Feed line goes into the rail at the back near the firewall. Return comes from the fpr and goes to the origination point as mentioned above. The...

83 may have the fuel system additional relay. It's silver and shaped differently from the typical square box. Rectangular and flat solid state. Best wait for someone here with that specific system so they can guide you better

Re: Instructions for disabling onboard security 1987 635csi

Your ignition switch may be failing. Contacts slowly burn away until it doesn't make contact anymore. Check for +12V at that black/yellow wire when the key is turned to start position. Or the starter just needed to get bumped with good voltage before it woke up

Nice work

Re: Instructions for disabling onboard security 1987 635csi

Try to hot wire it by connecting +12V to the starter trigger contact. It will have a black with yellow stripe wire on it. Under the intake manifold towards the firewall

There is a way to hotwire at the diagnostic port but memory is failing. I'll have to search for it and report back

Visibility is your issue Rainer. The black piece has a tab that locks it into place. Rotate the heater valve until you get to a slot in the green section where the tab is more exposed and will allow for you to push the tab in and release it. Good luck

Not sure which one that is with a red cap. There are 3 sensors I'm familar with- thermotime sensor/switch, Coolant Temp x2 as described before. Thermotime has a 7 second ON status if the engine is cold and that triggers the cold start valve. Unplug the cold start injector valve (csv) to see if the T...

Coolant Temperature Sensor. It's blue or white/tan inserted into the thermostat housing. Sensor may be bad or signal is not getting to the ecu. Check signal to at the ecu connector to make sure sensor output is getting there There are 2 different coolant sensors on the thermostat housing. One is for...

Re: Sport Seat Rails / Tracks - $150

Early raised floor section is front to back on both sides of each seat. The well under the seat is also very narrow. That system requires flat adjusting rails. Different from your setup. You have the raised mounts that are side to side like e28. You can use Dales parts Your Recaro adaptors are also ...

Re: Sport Seat Rails / Tracks - $150

Please refresh my memory on your seat mounting Bobbo. I think you have the later e28 style floor instead of the raised floor and flat rails This setup is ideal for mounting e21 Recaros into e24/28 and e23. I actually need the adaptor plates in Dales ad but I can make my own. My 81 e12 has the same l...

I thought I did. The rest of my post is constructive as far as price and application. Those are perfect for mounting Recaros into e24. As I mentioned, the adaptor plates are already included From my vantage point they are Comfort Seat Rails which are known for use with Recaros. They are well worth y...
