If by "coastal connector" you mean US 90 along the Mississippi/Alabama Gulf Coast, yes it's pretty, and that time of year you shouldn't be delayed too much by beach traffic (http://www.coastal90.com/). In MS you'll be going past all the casinos, and there is a LOT of traffic there, but you...

They're going to be within a tenth of an inch of the exact same diameter, and the same width, so I don't think you'll gain a bit of clearance. That's theoretical, anyway. Your real tires may be different. They vary by manufacturer, even though they are supposed to be the same.

The two I got to replace the missing ones on the 633 were slightly 'loose', just enough so I could coax them over the trim at the gap they eventually covered. Once they were on and slid into place, I took a thick cloth, padded the clip/cup/whatever, and gently squeezed it with some Channel Lock plie...

Just guessing, but I'd say it came from an '88 or later E30. Up until late '87 ('87 Y/M) the window operators were cable drive. The '88-'93 had the regulator arms/sliders and gearbox similar to the E36s that followed.

That gap is on both sides of both my E24s. I've never seen anything such as a filler there in any other 6ers.

Do you mean where is it here? (first posting, but it's not bourbon, it's vodka "Every morning's a Smirnoff morning" ) or where was it published? I have no idea.

In the second picture you have the "cup" circled (BMW's name for it) . It's part #51131839940. In the first picture you have a gap circled. Gaps are free. (seriously, I can't tell what you're pointing out in that circle. There is no joiner that goes there like the other piece you ne...

eBay, but you'll have to get them chromed yourself. That's not a factory coating. If you already have non-chromed ones, get them done.

Try a different dealer. Most of them charge nothing to look up the code.

I would never again darken the door of one trying to rip me off for $125 just to look up a radio code, and I'd make darn sure the management knew it.

I will try another cluster, provided I can find one. There isn't an abundance of E24s 'round here. I really don't want to 'poke the bear' by taking the one out of my '85 635. Except for the service indicator lights, which have never worked in my ownership, the cluster was working shortly after I got...

IC problems...speedometer/odometer erratic

1984 US 633CSi. When the speedometer works, the tachometer won't. When the tach works, the speedometer won't, and if both are moving, neither is even close to being correct. The odometer gears are gone, that much I know (had the IC out and I looked), but no amount of contact cleaning or sender clean...

How complete is the tool kit in the trunk? You can do an amazing number of repairs jobs on the car with only those, but it would be nice to have a complete set of box-end/open-end combination wrenches, 1/4" and 3/8" drive socket sets, some better screwdrivers (the prices people pay for tho...
