Yep,
That looks like a straight UUC knockoff.
I'm all for supporting ingenuity, and making something yourself from scratch I can get behind. I can't get behind a straight ripoff of a reputable companies' design, to make your own at a profit.

Re: Wheels that I hope will fit
My M6 came to me with 18's. to make things work well, I made custom roll center adapters for the front, made custom spherical bushings, and welded in adjusters to the rear control arms. Even with all the mods., I can only run 225/35-18 tires up front or things rub. The front tire is too thin to my e...

Re: Pressure Hose Ideas
If you can't find an OEM hose supplier, I am surprised to hear that a hose supply house can't fabricate what you need from proper hose, and crimp connectors.
I remember using these guys for a custom hose when I was in L.A.

Re: Anyone Ever Bought A Fiberglass or CF Hood from DTM Fiberwerkz?
For sure Pod, here in California we have lots of factors like environmental regulations, and a high cost of living that makes getting things done WAY more expensive than in other parts of the world. That is why I am such a DIY type person. I took another look at pricing, and the CF hood is actually ...

Ya know..... The more I think about it, the more I am starting to warm up to the idea of molding a gasket in-situ. This stuff is closed cell, and flexible. https://www.smooth-on.com/tutorials/foam-squishies-flexfoam-iii-liquid-expanding-foam/ I'm thinking it might be possible to add some black UV re...

If you were to scan the groove, you then you would need to imagine the actual gasket from empty space. Filling negative space from nothing is much harder than scanning what is actually there, and cleaning up any aberrations.

Re: Anyone Ever Bought A Fiberglass or CF Hood from DTM Fiberwerkz?
I have to admit that for a black car, the CF hood is tempting. For $695 you get a perfect, lightweight hood, that doesn't need paint, and it lightens the front end which impacts the 57% front weight bias. Compared to the price of getting a damaged hood repaired, that is CHEAP! Hell, just stripping, ...

That is good money for a regular 635. Agreed that is a good price on that M1. Those bad boys are BIG bucks!

Re: Group interest - rear light frame seals
I was thinking about making a light wire perimeter frame to hold it in proper shape, which should give the best 360 scan. The bump created by the wire could be removed once scanned. Another thought was laying it face down on a surface, and make light wire frame ends to hold up the curved parts. Alth...

Re: Group interest - rear light frame seals
Hello everyone, Sourcing the tail-light frame gaskets is proving to be EXTREMELY problematic, and I had a thought last night. I work at a college, and our digital design program might have a 3D laser scanner. If so, I should be able to scan, and model these gaskets. With a good scan, a number of opt...

There you go jubilados. Multiple folks confirming that a cat. did the trick. You might also want to consider this adjustable MAF upgrade. https://splitsec.com/product/psc1-004-programmable-signal-calibrator That unit can be ordered with a matching MAF for about $600 to your door. Re: s38 oil leak
How fresh is your valve cover gasket? They can be a real bugger to seal sometimes, and with the head always under pressure, little drips happen. Super annoying! I always use some ultra grey to fill in any possible leak spots.

Seems like that could be coming from the seam between the rear cover plate, and the cam carrier tray. A close pick would help.

Hey Bobbo, I would definitely go with those COB lights, but if you want to try something easier to build, you could buy SMD LED strips and just stick a few of them to the flat surface of the bumper end, under the reflector. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QLPFZSD?pf_rd_r=53930F82KZ8NMPP0SX5N&am...

My original steering wheel had a protective leather cover that was ok, but wearing out. I found a great overwrap to replace it with. It has tri-color stitching, and I was able to order it in a custom width to perfectly fit my existing steering wheel. I can't find the post I made, but the cover was o...

Re: How to refresh lettering on check panel?
From the pics, looks like Mo's transfers are the perfect solution for that button.
You can try removing the old lettering with alcohol and steady rubbing with a q-tip. If that doesn't work, you can experiment with a VERY DILUTED acetone solution (distilled water or alcohol work) and a q-tip.

Re: How can I get an 85 Euro 10.0CR engine to pass Cal smog?
Hi folks, Ca. smog is tricky. One important thing to know is that IF your car came factory with a manifold that had air injectors or other EGR pieces on it, then you MUST use CARB approved headers or replacement manifolds. However .... if your car did NOT have manifolds that had any air injection, o...

Re: How to refresh lettering on check panel?
The real time consuming approach is vinyl cutouts. You polish the button to remove the old paint with some 3000 grit wet/dry paper, then apply the vinyl. Use a brass brush to lightly score the exposed parts, and then use an enamel paint to re-coat. You can finish with a plastic friendly clear coat. ...

Hey Bobbo. I wonder if this wouldn't be a case where you really want to go with something very custom. I suggest buying some 3M adhesive COB light strips, and seeing if they can stick to the inner surface of the mounting area, then using the OEM cover. I think you could well end up with a crazy brig...

I am a fan of a slightly darker grey center with the polished lips. Definitely grey, and not gold though.
I think all white would look very clean. Black would really stand out, and I think matching white would look better, even with the spoiler.

How about just putting a business card under the windshield, with a quick note about buying? I've had a few of those on my M6.
