Is there a way when the filler (what ever you choose to use) is setting to emboss the surface? You can get a stamp that has the grain which you press into the filler material while it's still not set up to give it the grainy look just like you would on those concrete walls to give them a faux stone...

Super glue and baking soda! I hadn't thought of that in years! That's how we used to build balsa wood RC airplanes back in the day. You may destroy the wood in a shunt, but the joints never failed! It sets up like concrete, but wear thick rubber gloves as it's likely to set your fingers on fire too!

This appears to have worked well as you had fairly small cracks. I did something similar on my Porsche 928 but once painted, it looked like a scarred up face from a horror movie.

I used superglue and baking soda. In hindsight JB weld may be a better option because it takes longer to set up

I've dismantled a number of old European cars here in Texas. Cars like Mercedes Benz 450SLC's , 560SEC's and Jaguar XJS. I usually end up throwing away rust free shells for scrap. Surely there must be some money in shipping these shells back Europe given how good a condition they are in?

Mercedes Benz of the 70's and 80's were built from really good materials and are very well built. With that said, you need to be really careful when buying one because MB diesel owners are about the cheapest bunch of cheapy cheapskates skint flints that you'll ever meet. If you find a nice one, you'...

Fluid film kind of works like waxoyl. You have to apply it yearly. It's not expensive.

Envirosafe is basically propane. It's not officially legal to use but that does not stop anyone using it. I've tried it but have found it to be ineffective in most systems when compared to R12. R12 is pretty cheap at $20-25/can. If it was me, I would ensure that the system is in tip top condition an...

Power window relay

Can anyone tell me which relay runs the power window? None of mine work and it's not the fuze block which I've already replaced with a known good one.

Thanks.

They come in all shapes and sizes, just measure up the space you want to put it and note the location of the fittings and start searching. You'll find one that fits.

Don't use PVC, if it shatters it could really hurt you. I have a 60 gallon Cambell Hausfeld which I bought used in 2005. No problems.

A kid I know has them installed on his Mercedes Benz 300CD. He says that he likes them better then the Euro lights as they have a much better cut off.

They were sealed beam replacements.

85 M635CSI off to paint, how do you remove trunk spoiler??

All

As the message states, I do not see any screws on the bottom side so wondering if it's glued on? I'd hate for the paint shop to ruin it trying to get it off.

Re: All my windows stopped working, not the circuit breaker

85 M635, windows now no longer work. I pushed the circuit breaker and it did nothing. Is there another fuse or should I look at grabbing a relay on my next junk yard run. The power windows are on the same circuit as the brake lights (big wtf there). If your brake light warning LED is on, that's you...

So is shooting someone to death the right punishment for keying your car? Perhaps a good beating or caning (as in Singapore) is the proper remedy? I would not say that it's the right punishment, but it is a good deterrent. The same people who do that commit other crimes and do so because they know ...

No, but I think people may behave a bit differently as a result. I notice less "Road Rage" here than I did when I lived in CA. Yep, there are two sides to every coin. I grew up in London and moved to the US at 26, first to GA and then to TX. Sure there are more shootings in Texas, but I c...

I don't have a set of gauges unfortunately. I guess they would help in troubleshooting... Critical, everything else is a guess and you won't be able to fix it without gauges as you're either going to have to reduce or add to the correct level. They're cheap and can be found on CL quite often for un...
