Re: What are these?
Incidently, I re-made the larger part in aluminium and it forms part of a complete engine shield. Nick OK Nick, you can't make a statement like that without sharing multiple pictures of what you have done. This sounds like a great idea. May want to start a new thread though. I didn't mean to hijack...

Thanks,

Re: My 6'er
No worries, my middle name is "slow progress". If you saw my Projects thread, I have let my poor car sit for something like 2 years. Like you, I am back on it and the A/C is one thing I will be tackling as well so I am looking for as much helpful info as I can get. Keep working on it and e...

Re: My 6'er
Ken,
What ever happened to your A/C plans? Did you find an aluminum evaporator (if so, from where) or end up reusing the e24 copper one?
Thanks,
Eric

Re: My New Air Conditioning Book is Now Available on Amazon
Interestingly my copy says "Printed in Great Britain" which suggests to me that they may be printed locally in some territories to save on shipping? Nick That is interesting. It certainly meshes with why mine was printed less than 100 miles away. It would be cool to see how many different...

Got my copy in today. Looking forward to the read. Re: Anyone know this front air dam?
Agreed, that car does look very similar to the one I saw. I didn't try poking my head or hand around to determine if the one I saw was a cut and pieced together item. The finish looked very good so I assumed it was factory. Got a little mystery going on. Will be interesting to see where this ends up...

Re: What are these?
Jose,
That makes sense. It's like a puzzle. If arranged like that, is the intent that the air hits the back and then goes left or right and hopefully finds its way to the brakes?

Re: Anyone know this front air dam?
No worries. Thanks for confirming I got the pics to show at least.
Oh, the show that these pics were taken was the Euro car festival in Greenville, SC, in October. Might jog someone's memory as to who owns this car.
Thanks again,
Eric

Re: What are these?
Ron,
Great pic, thanks. So it looks like this works on the world bumper style M6. Did you happen to try and mount this on one of your '85 M635s? Also, did you install this or did it come from the factory like that? Sounds like you did, but I wanted to double check.
Thanks again,
Eric

Sorry about that. Thank you for letting me know. You are correct, I could see them, but that doesn't help if no one else can.
Please let me know if you can see any images now.

So is the bigger one an air scoop for the oil cooler then? Still can't tell what the smaller one is for.

Anyone know this front air dam?
I saw this at a local Euro car show last year and thought it was very nice looking. I don't recall seeing it before. It is not as deep as the Euro M635 air dam, but it still has the ridges on the lower edge like the M635 dam. it also has the opening for the tow hook like the M635 dam. Anyone know de...

Re: What are these?
I can see how the larger one would bolt on, but how does the smaller one work? Do you install both on the car at the same time? And how do they actually work? Where are they directing air to? Anyone have these installed and could share some pics?
Thanks,
Eric

Not sure how I missed this thread, but great job on all the work you have put in. Car is looking really nice. I hope to follow in your footsteps and get my M back on the road sometime this year.
Any more details on the heat shields? They look really nice.
Keep up the great work!

Re: The quest for the ultimate driving machine...
Well, after a cough short cough delay, I am back on the M6. Life has a way of changing directions a lot, doesn't it. Got my daughter into college, constantly trying to keep my son headed in the right direction and took a big trip to Japan, which was great since I hadn't been there in nearly 15 years...

Re: m635 Exhaust options
Are your new headers carbon steel or stainless?
How do the the rectangular pieces that bolt to the head look? Are they in line and flat? Did you try test fitting them already?
What coating are you getting?
Thanks,
Eric

Re: Anyone have an all aluminum radiator?
To make sure i am not misunderstanding you Nick, when you say "oil cooler" you mean for the automatic transmission fluid?
Just want to clarify because when I hear oil cooler, I think engine oil and I have a separate cooler for that.
Thanks,
Eric

Re: m88/3 valve clearance adjust
Thanks for the feedback. You are correct, that does add up quickly. Where did you get your shims from? So far it seems like our options (for 31mm shims) are: 1) BMW 2) Audi/VW 3) I found a place in Australia that sells all sorts of shims, including 31mm http://www.precisionshims.com.au Does anyone k...

Re: m88/3 valve clearance adjust
Rather than measuring all my valves, ordering shims and then waiting to get the shims in, I would like to get a collection of shims to have a variety handy and ready to use (for this adjustment and future ones). That being said, what is the range and increments I should be looking to get? Thanks, Eric

Did you post on any other forums? Don't forget the e28 M5 can use the same radiator.
