Re: Blower problem

Had the same problem myself i.e. only full speed blower. Used the troublshooting steps to ID the transistor in the actual blower dial itself as being faulty. Swapped both transisters (blower speed switch in dash which is a pain to get in and out, also the one on firewall as its easy so may as well -...

I like the colour, different.

Have to wonder what people will think in 30 years regarding some of the new M4 that people choose to have in the lime greens or 'discharge' yellow :D

Mine was intermittent no start too, did it for years before i fixed it - mechanic couldnt resolve it either.

Check the OBC relay box i described, one under your P2 dash.

Re: FS - UK RHD M635CSi #226 or #257???

I am no expert admittedly, can't see what could be done with that car .. at that mileage the engine must be tired.. the body is bent and the interior is battered.

Unless the values of the M's go up into late 10's of thousands it would never be economical to repair such a car surely?

WTB: Fan (blower) control circuit board

My blower runs nothing or full, changed the transistor by motor and also the one on the circuit board behind the variable dial in dash - no luck.

Anyone have a spare board hidden away that they would part with?

Re: M635 no spark - so confused, help!

I had issues with my 6 related to the OBC stopping the main relay. On occassion would turn over but no spark... Found the issue in the end after much pain. There is a 'relay' box in the passenger side dash which is linked to the OBC, its part of the security system. If the OBC code is set then the O...

Today, I got her wet  No choice as had it booked for an MOT, went through no advisories so all good. Dried it off before putting back in the garage but tomorrow I'll get her out again and clean the arches and take her for a proper run.. sun should be out in the morning. Miserable windy and we...

Yep, kicking myself now as i had the scuttle off a year ago anyway while doing some OBC / alarm related stuff - just didnt service the motor while there. My mistake but lesson learnt. edit: Just got the old motor out, very stiff however a session of lube out of a can and it runs perfectly, going to ...

Re: M635 Diff mount

Hi Don, Yes design looks similiar i.e. metal plate bonded to the rubber. 2 main reasons i needed this rather than the 'normal' part. 1) was the height as you have asked about, this part has 51mm where as the height of the 'usual' part numbers was about 10-15mm less, so the diff would have been neare...

Re: M635 Diff mount

Rob, nothing better than getting to the bottom of mystery part numbers and what fits 8) So the saga concludes - part number 33171125290 is as below, costs £139 inc VAT and is the same as is fitted to my M6: IMAG1955.jpg So now all i need is a dry day without ice on the ground then it can be fitted.

Re: M635 Diff mount

So, the saga continues. On the left we have part number 33171129784 at around £50 inc VAT On the right we have part number 33171130900 at around £270 inc VAT (yep, eye watering). IMAG1949.jpg As you can see, they would 100% be interchangeable and i cant see how the £270 is superior apart from a fake...

Tired but happy.

Re: No Start - During Restoration

I am not the most technical here but do know mine won't start unless my battery is in good condition. If you are seeing less than 12v then i would charge the battery properly or stick a power pack on it before doing anything else.
