Re: You can tell you're an E24 fanatic if.....
I carry two first aid kits in the trunk of my 635CSi so that in the event something is needed I won't have to use the "Green Cross" one that came with the car.

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?
Song, I think you got off lucky. I once met a fellow who told me that he took his old Plymouth into Walmart for an oil change and lube and the "technician" filled the front brake bleed screws with grease and left the tie rod end with no grease. I certainly wouldn't trust my BMW to quick lu...

Sunroof Panel won't go to open...? FIXED!
Following the Bentley manual instructions and help from forum members I successfully removed the sunroof panel and cover and reattached the rain gutter rods. I replaced the sunroof inner cover panels and reattached the panel to the triangular brackets. The panel will not move back to the full open p...

Re: wind noise ... how to hush it down a bit??
My 1985 635CSi also has some wind noise from the driver's side window although the seal is in good condition. Recently the sunroof has begun to wind whistle at speeds up over 80kph. It can be very annoying on a long trip. The radio volume helps!

I found out what I needed very quickly from MyE28 site members. When I have the job completed I will be better able to help others who may have the same problem.

Re: Sunroof rear sliding rain gutter rods broken
It does look as though it will be necessary to remove the sunroof panel to properly deal with the rain gutter rods. I am not sure where the rivets for the rod ends need to go but will better understand this when the panel is no longer in the way. The loose rods sometimes get no the way of the roof p...

Sunroof rear sliding rain gutter rods broken
The rivets at the front of the two rods that move the rail gutter on my sunroof were broken and the rods were not able to move back and forth. This looks like a pretty difficult job to replace the tiny rivets. I do not have any water leakage that I can see but now worry that water will get into the ...

Re: Repairing turn signal switch
I guess I jumped the gun on this question. I removed the lower steering column panel and the rubber disc dust seal and was able to squirt a dose of contact cleaner into the switch components and all seems well again.

Repairing turn signal switch
After just installing a new ignition switch I now find that the turn signal switch on my 635CSi is not working properly. It works fine when moving the left down to the left turn position but when pushed up to a right position I hear only a buzz like a poor electrical contact would make. My question ...

Re: The Don
In Canada especially here in the north guns are are a part of the culture of hunting which is open to anyone as young as 12 who can pass a brief test after taking a short course. Vast tracts of Crown land is free for anyone to use with few exceptions. Guns are not generally thought of as a weapon to...

Lovely car. I think that the BAT auction cars sell for some pretty astounding prices so it wouldn't surprise me to see this get into the $40k's or possibly 50k range.

Re: What Happened to the Friday Thread????
How many female posters do we have? What is the demographic profile of our supporters, registered users and guests? Brian, how about a questionnaire on a separate thread? That is a great idea. It would be interesting to know how many female members we have and what ages our members are. Maybe a poll...

JCS, Do you mean to say that you are in mourning? If you indeed meant morning then I can advise that it is also "morning" at my location. In any event I am in mourning also.

I will miss the boobies also. Friday's won't be the same but since I check the site every day to read the interesting posts and to learn about how to keep my 6'er in top shape it won't change my viewing habits. If you felt it was an issue that needed to address I support your decision.

FCP Groton- Good Experience
A few months ago I ordered two parts from FCP Groton for my 635CSi. One of the parts shipped to my my Minnesota address (I live in Canada). One of the parts was incorrect and I advised FCP that it was the wrong part and that for me to ship it back would be very costly involving a long drive and ship...

Just to state the ******* obvious - compressing springs is about the most dangerous job you can do on a car (well, apart from working underneath a poorly supported one or grabbing a moving fan belt!). So take care and make absolutely sure that the hooks are properly attached and do not move whilst ...
