Re: The £50,000 RHD M635 has arrived.

Hi John Unfortunately I cannot read the board as it is just a scanned real photo (I don't think digital cameras were around at the time!) but it does look to be the same board as in your photo. I was told that some performance improvement work had been done to the engine by around 1996. As previousl...

Re: The £50,000 RHD M635 has arrived.

Here is a photo I took of David's car back in the day (1994 I think) with the small mobile aerial just poking out of the top rear screen and the M6 badges. Both these are visible in the advert. Note his original reg no. later changed to 606 DRC.

Re: The £50,000 RHD M635 has arrived.

Absolutely John. But this car is being shown as #483 in the M635 registry?
Ron has been told by the seller that the car in the advert is #483.
Like you, I do not believe that they are the same car, hence my confusion.

Re: The £50,000 RHD M635 has arrived.

Er.......Now I am confused. I remember where I got my info for #483. It is listed in the M635csi Registry http://www.bmwmregistry.com/detail.php?id=852 The Reg number I think is showing as F848 VDF which according to DVLA has not been on the road since 2008? But the CC for this car is showing wrong ...

Re: The £50,000 RHD M635 has arrived.

Thanks for the correction Ron. My data is home grown from trolling the net so often mistakes creep in
I remember David telling me he had Shrick cams put in and had it chipped, back in the day, but the ad says nothing of this so may have been put back to standard.

Re: The £50,000 RHD M635 has arrived.

Hi John I believe this to be either #470 or #474 as, according to my data, #483 was first registered 2nd June 1989 (not September as stated in the ad) plus if I have the correct registration number of #483 it is currently SORN and not had an MOT since 4th Dec 2008. The car being advertised is/was Da...

Re: M88 M635 throttle cable wanted

Hi Chris As I'm sure your aware this part is NLA. However, I was chatting with a chap at Gaydon last year who had fitted an E30 M3 cable to his M635 with only some minor adjustments . This might be an easier part to find than an E24 one. Phil PS Just remembered I took a photo of it (how sad is that ...

Re: Short Shift Kit install issue

Hi Joeg I did this job a couple of years ago and if like me you could not fully engage the retaining clip on the linkage pin I ended up drilling a small hole in the floor pan above the clip and pushed/pulled the clip home using a small curved pick. I then sealed and painted the small hole. This was ...

One of the first jobs I needed to tackle on my spare engine was to clean up and rebuild the throttle bodies. Having searched the web for articles on how to approach this, I came across these links: http://6-city.blogspot.co.uk/2013_01_01_archive.html http://6-city.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/adjusting-th...

Aha, in that case C781 MDP was exported to the Gold Coast Australia in 2005. It was indeed Diamond Black metallic, with 0186 interior (cloth but unsure what colour that is) according to the build sheet. The last photos I have show it sporting a Recaro leather interior and worryingly a tow bar.

I have a copy of Motor from w.e. Oct 1985 with C781 MDP featured (sister car to C780 MDP?) which looks to be blue (difficult to tell from the only colour photo as it's taken at dusk). It had a hounds-tooth cloth interior. Classic & Sportscar featured B729 UPR May 1993. Also BMW Car featured C214...

I believe this is not an M635csi and I have reported this to Pistonheads.

Certainly the front and back boxes are Supersprint mild steel and are badged as such. The downpipes I'm unsure of. There seemed to be small traces of soot on one of the original welds so I had them re-welded. Because of this, I suspect they may have been fabricated by someone else. There are no mark...

I fitted a complete second hand mild steel Supersprint system last year to my M635 when the baffles gave up on my original system. At first I thought it a little too noisy for my taste. However the more I drive it the more I like it. It is I believe the sound you are looking for. It sounds throaty a...
