I got my copy yesterday, hadn't even taken it out of the plastic wrapper. I ripped it open and went right to your article and enjoyed reading it! Well done, sir!
Now the question is: is there a hemi in that thing?

Re: The missus' X5 hits a "devil" of a milestone
We had our new Equinox a grand total of 14 days when my daughter drove it into the side of our storage shed, one of numerous dings and dents she's inflicted on our vehicles. I replaced the right front fender on her 95 318is THREE TIMES after she ran it into trash bins (TWICE) and a guard bollard at ...

Re: Fuel Pressure Issues
To test the regulator with the engine running, pull and plug the vacuum line going to the regulator while testing fuel pressure. The pressure should go to maximum with no vacuum feed. You can delete the bottom "regulator". It is actually a device to smooth out fuel pump pulses, not a press...

Re: Wild dashcam video - better check your wheel studs!
Amazing that the Kia driver survived, but it wasn't lug nut failure that caused this incident. See attached screenshot. The entire hub, brake disc and wheel came off. The lug nuts were still holding the wheel to the hub assembly. Probably the spindle nut came off, at least that's my guess. It would ...

Welcome to the group!
Does the engine have the three basics: fuel pressure, injector pulses and spark? Any one missing equals a no start/no run.

I'm guessing you have an automatic transmission, because that is the warning light for a transmission fault.

Re: Weird Side Effect of a Car with Active Exhausts
The E36 M50/52 etc had a pair of pipes on the same side of the bumper coming out of the same muffler. One only opened/flowed exhaust at high RPM, controlled by a vacuum line from the intake. The second pipe was normally closed by engine vacuum. At WOT the vacuum dropped and the valve would open the ...

Although collectors cars usually don't bob around in price as much as everyday vehicles, they do somewhat follow the overall price trends. The recent insanity of used car prices going through the roof seems to be over, or at least a lot less crazy than ~2 years ago. Watching Wayne Carini's Chasing C...

Re: Clutch Bleeding - BMW Factory Method
I believe your problem is the master cylinder, not the slave. Is there any sign of leakage from the slave, i.e.fluid coming from the bottom of the bellhousing? If not, the master is failing.

Re: Check out this thrashed throw out bearing - not BMW
I save the busted transmission parts to remind me it's not a good idea to rawhide a car ever time you drive it. I kept the flex plate to remind me to thouroughly diagnose a problem before diving in with expensive results. The flex plate was in a 1970 baseline Firebird with a very much warmed over 35...

Re: Check out this thrashed throw out bearing - not BMW
Back in my misspent youth I had a box of broken car parts. Cluster gears with teeth knocked off, broken synchronizer rings (I was hard on transmissions) rod bearing beaten to pieces, a broken flex plate. I called it "The Misery Box". It may still be in a dark corner of my garage.
