So I bought these injectors.............
Bought a set of Bosch type 3 injectors to see if I can smooth the idle out a bit,was looking at the inspection report and noticed that they were specified at 220cc@ 43 psi(3 bar) vs the stockers 200 cc/19# 43 psi, They were listed as 19# Mustang but I guess I did not realize that some of these flow ...

Not sure on the age of the wires, they look pretty good, ends looked all nice and clean, no corrosion, no fraying or bare wire. Rotor and cap had some pitting in them and were replaced. At $150+ for a wire set I was trying to eliminate most of the other possibilities. I have some injectors heading t...

I actually enjoy working on this thing, because its mechanicals are simple and stuff works like it is supossed too, you can still fix thi...

Thanks Chris, There are a couple of things on that list I did not check, oil cap and dip stick are 2 of them, I will check all the vacuum connections again as well. I did inspect all the hoses and boots when I had them off, looks like someone along the line replaced them, looked to be in pretty good...

Decided that I like the looks of an Mtech II, seems like they are pretty hard to come by. Not sure what the hell is up with all the sellers on EBay from the Baltic states that are selling refurbished ones. Seems weird that nobody sells/refurbish these exempt in some small North European countries Pete

That leak at the back of the head is very likely to be the oil pressure switch. For a $10 part that takes 10 minutes to install, I'd try that before messing with any gaskets. Yup, you guys were right, after some miles on here today, oil pressure sensor leaks pretty good. There is a slight leak at o...

Winfred/Brucey, thanks for the info, I did adjust the valves cold, and they all seemed spot on when I got done, but I will check again if I can't figure this out. But the consensus is that we rather have the valve clearance on the loose side than the tight side? Some carb cleaner for a vacuum leak i...

Idle not so smooth
Hello all I need to tap into your knowledge bank to help with an unstable idle. '88 auto, about 130k miles or so. Idle seems a little rough and not very smooth, sometimes you can feel it in the car, the whole car gives a shake, rpm needle does not move. Idle just sounds restless. Figured a straight 6...

Thanks for the welcome guys !! Been picking at the issues, did a total degrease of the engine, she is now squekee clean. Looks like the front oil leak was indeed the front crank sensor bracket bolt, and is fixed, back of the head is still undetermined, it's all cleaned up and dry, did the same with ...

Well, you guys hit it right on, pulled the switch for testing, noticed not much fluid leaking out, switched tested good, low side made at about 190, boiling did not set the high side, but after a slight touch with the propane torch, that made as well. Hose between radiator and tank appear to be clea...

Thanks guys, that makes sense, I did just replace the waterpump and thermostat , an air slug at the top of the radiation actuall kinda sounds like a possibility. I did bleed the system pretty good and did really not have any issues, but I will do further investigation. i should have said in my initi...

Aux fan operation
Hi guys, I have question on aux fan operation, I have an '88 with the 3 prong/combined thermo switch on the radiator. Problem I have is that the aux fan will not come on at all on its own, at any temperature. I jumped, within the 3 prong plug ,the 12v pin to the hi and low side pin, and they both wo...

Re: Knob & Shaft
Thanks, I still have knob, making the shaft would not be to hard, a metal leathe, some brass stock, should be good for a long timeShuttleman wrote:Blackbetty. I think I'll buy a new knob and just try to make a new/stronger shaft. Just a bit of file work if I can figure out the clocking.
Thanks again

SLS parts
Removed all the parts and pieces from the SLS system that the PO had left in the car. Fluid that drained out of the accumulators was nice and clear. If anybody needs some parts and pieces to make theirs working, let me know. I have everything but the shocks/struts, the pump and accumulators look bra...

Shuttleman, did you find a repair/replacement for the rear fan control knob?. Somebody did the same thing to mine, twisted the shaft in half. Cant find a part number anywhere, the knob is a separate part from the shaft that runs the rheostat. wondering if I need to do some junk yard visiting. Thanks P...

Hello all in Bigcoupe land, My name is Peter here in NW Ohio and I have recently became the new owner of a 1988 635csi. This is my first BMW, however not my first straight 6 (the other one is US origin, and missing its spark plugs :D ) I have been doing a lot of reading on this and other forums, and...
