Re: Bonnet Allignment

There are another 6 bolts (3 per side) behind the head lights, which make it possible to move the bonnet up- and downwards.

Re: Dash Cover

Removing the dash isn't that much work. Gluing and stretching the cover to make it fit the dash is much more work. Too bad the plastic dash cap was of bad quality. That would have been the easiest fix. Bert had a good idea as well, repair the cracks and spray the dash with truck bed liner spray. Ano...

It's the same one from JF Customs. I used the Highline cover. It was a lot cheaper though when I bought it.

Re: Dash Cover

It needs to be glued to your dash. You will also need to smoothen the cracks before you do that. Performing thus work with the dashboard inside the car will be impossible.

Re: Dash Cover

I did the leather cover. A lot of work and you will need to remove the dash for it. So not an option for you I assume after reading your post.

If you are 100% sure that the part itself is working properly, that could work.

Re: Engine running woes

Perhaps it's not one of these part that's bad but a dirty connector or broken cable.
I would continuity test all the cables back to the CPU to make sure.

Re: Leather Dash Cover

I got the plastic screw covers out by punching a small hole in them. I have not replaced them yet.
They can still be bought at BMW, it's part no. 64221370340.

My first thought is the dimmer (potentiometer) inside the light switch. It can be bad or dirty.

Very sharp Phil!
It is a very nice car but not perfect, for this price it should be, in my opinion.

Re: Window lubricating recommendations?

I do know that a very common way is to grease the window tracks with silicon spray.
The mechanisms usually need a good cleaning (remove old grease) before greasing it again.
Have fun!
