I think I would move the perch up a notch if it settled too much....

Re: Question re Bilstein B8's in a 83 633CSI

I cant recall the exact one, but here is a picture from my recent install on a 87 m6. The HR lower the car a little. So, if you measure from the bottom of the OEM strut to the perch and set the new ones up with the same measurement (or as close as possible) that will give you a little drop from stoc...

Could you please confirm the part numbers these replace? Is this for window/ door seals? Or what exactly. Cheers

Re: Brake line questions

My 87 USA M6 has a single line feeding the caliper. Fluid travels through the caliper to the other side, but it does have two bleed screws.

The previous owner "upgraded" the caliper lines. Unless you just have to have OEM, you may want to try some vendors that sell aftermarket DOT lines.

Re: mystery heater hose - M6

Pretty sure that hose goes from the heater core (at the firewall) to the coolant "T" under the intake. The T then goes to the expansion tank and also to the thermostat.

Re: 1985 635CSi E24 - Rough Idle & vacuum hose kit

Great job, glad its idling better. I see a blue hose running from the coolant resovoir to the radiator. Make sure it is rated for that application (heat and pressure). That hose is different than the typical vacuum hoses.

coolant flush 87 m6

Time to flush coolant. I noticed my 87 m6 doesnt have the typical BMW drain plug on the radiator to drain the coolant. I also noticed the lower hose isnt at the bottom of the radiator. What is the best way to flush the coolant? I was thinking of pulling the lower hose, maybe draining the block, and ...

I have used USAA for my entire life. When I started collecting cars about 20 years ago USAA sent me to American collectors Insurance company. Agreed value policy with some driving restrictions. I have never had a claim, so I cant tell you how good they really are!

Re: Post Surgery - Car fires & sputters but will not start

I had a FPR go bad on an e30 one time. It would only run with lots of throttle as the FPR was stuck closed and the fuel pressure was too high. Very very rough and rich smelling.

Re: No Crank Issue

I think you are going to have to study that diagram and start checking wires/connectors for power. Maybe start at the ignition switch to see if you have power in the start position.

Not sure if this helps, but page 26 (PDF page) or page 115 of the actual document is the start circuit diagram. Maybe a loose connector or bad relay? https://bimmertips.com/wp-content/uploads/BMW_Wiring_Diagrams/E24_Wiring_Diagrams/1985-BMW-E24-635csi-Electrical-Troubleshooting-Manual-Manual-Wiring-...

Tommy, the door is pretty tight right now. I loosened the catch up a little and every few days I open and close it a bunch of times. It seems to be settling. It actually fits really well at the glass, but is "tight" at the top front corner of the door. I think it will be fine once it settl...
