NZ M

This has been for sale for ages. I haven't seen it and no affiliation. Has dropped another 2000 NZ pesos. I don't know much about the m cars but thought was odd being auto? Seems to be in very good condition with extremely low mileage, but unlikely to sell in our RHD market unless someone buys to bu...

Series 2- 85 model Euro Dash

Looking for a complete instrument cluster/binnacle. Doesn't need to be working, but must be good condition cosmetically, no cracks etc, also loom ends if available.

I'm located in NZ but can provide referees on here.

If you can help please PM me with a couple photos

Thanks, Chris

Time taken to reach terminal velocity is directly proportional to the contents.

Re the wheel lock nut I made a small foam pocket in the very front of the armrest tray. As it was some time before I realised these existed I figured probably the best hiding place.

Thanks Trev and M6Dave. My son and I go to both historic touring and Supercars here in NZ, so they both fit the bill. However all local race car fields have got much smaller over the last few years, I guess reflective of the economy. I"ll check with Bathurst council, as have drawn blanks on the...

Moving on from the bogans and changing gear - to you guys in Aus who have been, which is the best meeting; Bathurst or the fathers day TCM meet? Thinking about doing one or the other this year.

re Bathurst, are camper vans the best accommodation option?

thanks, Chris

Gaz. Main reason is like everyone else here i want to upgrade to best I reasonably can. As i said I would rather AP racing but issues getting the parts made here. Thanks Winfred. I've figured out the rears will be ok since my wheels are originally from an E34. Re the fronts though I have managed to ...

V8 Supercars - Austin Texas

For those in the US (realise it's a big place) the V8 Supercar show is coming to Austin, Texas 17-19 May. These things are very fast, and the whole operations is slick - professional, world class drivers. http://www.v8supercars.com.au/events/austin-400 Saw them last weekend here in NZ at Pukekohe. N...

Brake Upgrade Questions

I'm pretty sure I've read all the relevant posts and info on here regarding brake upgrades. There's some very good info. Have been considering all sorts of options for a while now and getting to the pointy end. My ultimate preference is a 4-pot 5000 series AP Racing set up with 2 piece rotors. Howev...

I've recently replaced my lights (85) with originals but much better bulbs. In mine its the actual bulb shield thats angled to direct the light pattern to the left - roadside for RHD. The shield is part of the light reflector/housing.

Hope this helps. Chris

FWIW I'm running 8mm magnacor leads (M30) with no apparent issues. Granted you can't run them in the plastic retainer but this was shaped like a banana anyway. Everything that I have read convinced me it was better to have them separated but must be a reason BMW run them like they do, so gave up try...

Excellent article. I'm looking at further brake options.

For those in the know (price aside) how would the E31 840 fronts with E34 M5 rears compare to a 4 pot AP racing set-up with same size rotors.

Anybody got AP's inside 17" rims?

From experience its easy to flog out the socket head bolts as they're soft, and once burred a bloody pain to get out. My advice take a little time to properly clean the heads out and then use a good quality alan key socket, fully engaged. Replace with higher grade. I marked the flanges and replaced ...

I think the Aus muscle car market is a fairly good indicator. Anything to do with racing, especially Bathurst is no longer affordable therer or here in NZ. GTHO's, worth a little over $5k new in 1971 hit rediculous highs around $750K a few years back Prices have come back by then but still beyond re...
