Re: door weatherstrip

That reminds me, I need to change my passenger side as well. I did the drivers side years ago.

After you were done, did you have to realign your door a bit to relieve some pressure off of the window?

Wow, those are pretty. Either BBS or BMW roundel would look great. Paul did a great job, what was the turn around time and the final dimensions on your wheels? Thanks

Re: M-Tech rear Spoilers

Those look the same. Trying to find an OEM one with the rubber in good shape is tough but yet pricey. Just glad to know there's an aftermarket one available.

M-Tech rear Spoilers

I was able to find one but for anyone that cannot locate a OEM M-Tech spoiler, there is finally an aftermarket one at a reasonable cost. Only drawback is, it's one piece vs 2 piece OEM. Looks pretty darn legit, check out the link below. https://www.classiceuroparts.com/product/boot-spoiler-for-bmw-e...

Re: Steering wheel refurbishment

I used Chris Scow at Leather Wheels in Texas to recover my OEM steering Wheel and Auto shifter knob. You can choose to add extra padding, the type of stitching and color of stitch. He did a great job. Check out his website: info@leatherwheels.com Thanks Bob for getting the picture attachment sorted...

Welcome, being second owner is nice and also who was the original owner. Keeping it as original as possible will fetch you big bucks in the coming years.

Re: AC compressor leak ('88 M6)

Probably not. You'd have to take it take it out to rebuild it or buy a new one. if you haven't converted to the new refrigerant, it's probably the best time to do so.

Re: Replacement battery pack for cordless power tool

It's pretty vintage you'd probably end up spending around $30-40 bucks. Maybe time for a new one ($50-100). You can borrow mine (not cordless) if you need.

Hey Bob,

You don't need to take the rotors off. Cover the caliper, use the wire brush to clean off the rust spots and spray a few thin coats.

Re: Oil Synthetic vs Regular?

I've been using Synthetic oil (usually Mobil or Valvoline) for the past 20ish years on the recommendation of my shop. They say it lubes better, better for heat temperature and break down etc but who knows. Currently I'm at 292k so I'll stick with it.

I'll disconnect the battery after driving and usually 3-4 weeks I will connect it to a charger to make sure it's fully charged.

Seeing other wide body kits, I think this is the nicest one so far and the engine by Frank Fahey. Wow.

New M3 kidney grills

The new giant kidney grills just don't look right and not everyone is a big fan of them.
Chip Foose's redesign is so much better.

I've had the Dinan chip for 20+ years and using a OEM thermostat. Car runs cool, the temp gauge usually stays at about 1/3.

Re: Rebuilding cost for 17" BBS RC

Hey Bob,

My wheels are the RX’s, I saw some BBS RC wheels for sale and was wondering.
I love the style 5’s but lots of folks have them.

Thanks

Hi Peter,

That would be a good option but not quite sure yet.

Thanks

Rebuilding cost for 17" BBS RC

I was wondering what would be the cost to fixing curb rash on 2 and also rebuilding 2 wheels (17x8 +20 off set) to make a staggered set of wheels (thinking either 9 or 9.5).
Thanks

Re: Cabin Constantly Hot, Need Help

Put a flashlight in the engine compartment (driver's side) and look under the foot well of the drivers side, maybe a grommet has popped out. That will also let engine heat in.

I remember the Sony DiscJockey it was the Ultimate CD changer to own in the mid 80s. I feel like the 80s analog equipment was made much better then what we have now but the digital stuff is really nice.
