I just got a tracking number from them today! :-) Seems like this got an happy ending after all, now I just have to wait for the package to arrive and see what's inside. Fingers crossed I get the right parts. Again, thank you for helping me out Gaz! :P Sometimes it doesn't take all that much to get ...

Last friday I finally got a reply from PPM, with appologies for the delay and so on. They said they would send the pistons the following week, but soon after I got another message from them about the size of the pistons. That it was wrong or something. I sent them a reply confirming which size I nee...

Re: Bmw m102 engine rebuild

Hello members rebuilding a performance m102 engine and looking for a performance / upgrade parts supplier ? Help needed ? There are so many suppliers out there I don't know where to start. You can use most/all the same parts as the M30's, main difference is bore size and block thicknesses based on ...

Thank you a lot, Gaz! :-) I would have called them myself if nothing else worked, the reason I haven't done so already is because I have had a lot to do lately, the different time zones and the fact that I'm not all that good at speaking english. I prefer using email or similar when communicating in...

I have PM'ed you some information about the order, I don't want you to feel obligated to contact them but I would appreciate it a lot if you do. I saw something similar happend on a Porsche forum ...

Pure Performance Motorsports in Australia

Hi, does anyone have experience with Pure Performance Motorsport in Australia? I ordered and paid for a set of M30 forged pistons from them three months ago and haven't heard anything from them since. They responded to all of my questions and helped me through the payment process, said they had a se...

I think you might be overreacting a bit! :P I'm about to do a 1300km and (maybe) 10 000km trip with mine this summer and I'm not even worrying about half the things on your list, althought mine havent been in regular use for three or five years. Mine also have a new thermostat, fan clutch, new front...

I had a similar problem with one of my E23's a couple of years ago. The windshield wipers would sometimes come on when I drove the car through bigger puddles of water, refusing to stop for a certain amount of time or until I pulled the fuse. I never dug into it, thought.. It must have been BMW's fir...

I'm not sure about the AC bracket, but I'm pretty sure you'll have to remove the alternator bracket to get to all the bolts holding the oilpan in place. I would definitely use more than just a jack to hold the engine up with, you should use jack-stands wherever it's possible and be cautious about th...

The foam is there for a purpose, you don't want to slam you bodyparts onto bare metal if you crash. Get it stripped and refoamed (if possible), and perhaps flocked? Or you could just fill all the cracks and get it flocked. Racecars often have flocked dashboards, but I haven't seen many E24's with it.

It's time for another update. :-) I don't know why, but both sides of the front panel have been replaced at some point. The work look like it's been done by a workshop so it's probably been damaged once, but the damage couldn't have been big cause I can't see any wrinkled metal anywhere else. It cou...
