K9 relay

Most UK cars don't have a K9 relay installed yet the windows work OK. My'83 scrapper has one, yet when I remove the relay, the windows still work!! The electrical manual shows one fitted to all years but maybe this is for the USA market? The fuse for the OBC is #17 (I think).Maybe the bulb pack has ...

Sheared bolt

Remove the roof again and see where the bolt has sheared. There may be enough thread sticking out to use Vicegrips. If you have to use a stud extractor,Snap-on are by far and away the best and you only have to drill about half the depth of the cheap ones(most of which are total crap). The part numbe...

Highline sidelights

If you don't want the half-power sidelight feature just disconnect both plugs on the resistors loom. The resistors are mounted behind the L/H headlight unit (2 white barrels clamped together held on with 2 bolts) just forward of the battery. I had to disconnect mine as the HID units objected to half ...

oh man, that gives me a third different option for the tightening stages!!! I have discounted the Haynes instructions as that manual is for an E12 and, although my car is an E12 in a new body, the haynes only covers engines up to the 528 (2.8l M30). The Bentley has an initial torque (apologies I ca...

Why would anyone do a half-ass repair like that? The cable costs about $15-20... PO's, You gotta love'em. Bless their tiny little hearts. Unfortunately, I had the seat reclined to "Date Position" before I first realized I had a problem. When I found his "fix" had c...

Switching front seats

I'm not sure if you can switch the electric seats over. I put a memory module into my passenger seat (R/H drive) and had to replace the seat loom with a L/H drive one as I think the switches would have a reversed operation! I also had to switch all the motors as the memory seat motors all have volta...

Paint code

212 is the paint code. /8 is the particular tint of your paint.

If you just order 212 I'm guessing there are at least 8 different shades.

2 121 749 is the BMW part number of the paint label.

good for the tightening procedure.

Remove the rear plastic headlight covers and you should see the 8mm. hex. nuts behind the indicators.Mostly they are rusted solid and will either shear off ...
