It may just be that one is as good as another as long as it's changed every 3,000-5,000 miles.

Engine Oil - What to Do

When my 1983 633Csi was built we had a narrower selection of oils. Now that I've got 125,000 on this and 190,000 on my E32 and the oil chart in the Owner's Manual is highly temperature dependent, I'm getting confused. All suggestions are appreciated. I live in NY but won't be driving it in the winte...

I have always had Michi MXV4's on all my BMW and if sitting for a few weeks (common for my 2nd car) 'tis true that they take a few miles to "round out" less though in hot weather (think summer!) I've always gotten great mileage (60K+) and a smooth quiet ride I also have an E32 which is big...

I may be able to swing by Great Neck tonight but it will be after closing and unless the car is parked in an accessible spot, the next opportunity for me would be Saturday morning (if the Navigator permits)

Goop to seal a hole

What do you all recommend to seal the hole where the a/c lines go through the bulkhead. There are remnants of a rubber grommet. I don't want to use silicone as it is too messy. What is that stuff that the manufacturers put around some of the A/c lines that always stays flexible?

Your biggest risk with a car from the northeast is RUST! You need to have someone put eyes on it everywhere: top bottom, sides underneath, under the rear lights, around wheel wells, lips, rear quarter panels, etc. Also, if it has been jacked up at any time, a careless boob could have cracked the rus...

Hi, There are lots of posts on this problem and how a failing bomb behaves including a short flash of your dashboard brake indicator and a hard pedal. Also search for JCS as Jay Stratton has a booster rebuild kit (If you have the hydro and not the vacuum booster. Also M/Cs are really cheap so I didn...

Great clearly explained post. Did you have any interference with the fuel vent lines or did you have to bend the rigid metal section? If you only have clearance for the thin ratcheting box wrench, how do you get a torque wrench in there to do accurate assembly. Minor change suggested on the fuel vap...

Could you supply their contact info. BTW, I used to have a J-24 which I raced for about 4 years. The Navigator wanted a hot shower and en enclosed head, so it was sold and we bought a house. The house now is home to 2 BMW restoration projects: E24 and E32, so I guess as choices go, it's not all bad....

My sun visor is shrinking so that the courtesy light is getting loose. Mine's black so that's the only thing that will look right. Lemmee know what you have. Please indicate mailing costs to 10028. No rush.
Thanks,
Ken
