Re: No Speedometer
Perhaps the batteries in the SI board are dead or defective. Recall that I had similar problems with a non functioning tachometer and the S.I. board batteries were dead. Once they were replaced everything was normal.

Re: What DO the prices (on BaT) mean?
Phillip, I am watching that 13mile Schwarz M6 also and quite frankly It appears to have significantly more miles on it than advertised. In some respects my 1985 looks better. I am hesitant to put my car in BaT because of the 180K miles they would probably list it only with a "No Reserve" a...

Re: What DO the prices (on BaT) me
I have been trying to sell my 1985 635CSi here in Ontario, Canada as I am trying to downsize to move into an apartment. It is every bit as nice and rust free as any that I see sell on BaT for $10-12US. I had mine advertised on a Canada wide Kijiji ( like Craig's List) priced at $15k Canadian, then $...

Re: Sport Seat Hip Bolster Pushed Outward- update
I see that the bolster is broken at the front of the seat. It looks like a horizontal round bar that has snapped loose. I suspect that it could be welded with a TIG welder without removing the leather.

Re: Sport Seat Hip Bolster Pushed Outward
Thankss. Taking the seat out shouldn't be a big problem but does the leather bolster have to be removed to access the metal ?

Sport Seat Hip Bolster Pushed Outward
The driver side sport seat on my 1985 has the hip bolster on the left side of the bottom cushion pushed outward towards the door probably by a large sized butt of a PO. I would like to get it put back into the correct position as the thigh support switch bracket is also broken and I have a new one o...

Re: FS: 1985 BMW 635CSi (5-speed)
Good luck with the auction. I will be very interested to see what the car sells for since I am also trying to sell mine with little interest in it here in Ontario. Mine is just about the same condition with no rust.

Re: F/S 1985 635CSi
Thanks once agin for the advice and positive comments. This is indeed a truly rust free car. I doubt it was ever driven in winter and even then I have had it oil sprayed to ensure it stays that way. The paint is almost flawless as well. BaT seems the way to hold. I have a nephew who is a professiona...

Re: F/S 1985 635CSi
Thanks guys, I might try BaT since that's where I got the impression my car was worth what I am asking at least. I really need to do a good photo shoot and possibly videos to show what a beautiful car this is so I might have to enlist someone with a good camera and skill in photographing cars. I thi...

F/S 1985 635CSi
Attached is a link to the kijiji site where I have an ad posted to sell my 1985 635CSi. I really hate to let it go but during the past two years my health has prevented me from using it more than a few hundred kilometres a year. I have had almost 900 viewers and almost no interest in the car from bu...

I can get gas here in northwestern Ontario, Canada for as low as $0.95 a litre. That's about $2.70 US for 1 US gallon.

Re: OBC Remote Not Working...?
Yes the switch moves in and out and is marked "BC" also so I presume it is corrrect switch. Maybe just a bad contact so when I have an opportunity or really bored I might remove the switch and clean it. The OBC otherwise works as it should.

OK although getting to that wire will be a challenge. Isn't the OBC a PITA to remove? . Thanks for the advice.

OBC Remote Not Working...?
Very minor item to be sure but the remote feature in the turn signal stalk does not change the OBC features as it was intended. I actually didn't even know the car (1985 635CSi) had the feature until I ran the V.I.N. I have never used it in the 8 years I have owned the car so it is not a big deal bu...

Re: Greetings - Newbie Here
Welcome to this great forum. You will find very knowledgeable and helpful members here. I store my 635CSi for about 5-6 months every year and do not put the car on jack stands but instead pump the tires up to about 50 p.s.i. to avoid flat spotting. Leaving the car on jack stands is not good for the ...

I would have thought that the highest airflow restriction would be at the Air Flow Meter not at the Throttle Body.

Re: which computer drives the Check Engine light
The light and a chime comes on whenever the ignition is on. The brake light out warning light on the left side light out panel should also come on until you press the brake. Possibly the brake light switch under the brake pedal is defective or not adjusted if it still doesn't go out when you push th...

Re: M30B34 Exhaust Valve Rocker Arm to Cam Clearance
OK! In case anyone is interested I adjusted the exhaust valves to 0.010" and the intakes at .009" and the engine purrs and idles smoothly. Two or three valves were a bit loose and ticking a bit so this fixed that minor issue.
