Rear shock replacement question
What is the best strategy for replacing the shocks and spring pads on my 84 633? Do I remove the rear seat or work in the trunk? If I pull down the glued trunk liner around the top of the shock tower, what adhesive do I use to reattach it? I am keeping everything stock.
Thanks,
Ken

Did the same job myself recently. Any tough job is a good excuse to buy more tools. The keys to this sucker are 1. Flare nut wrenches to remove the hydraulic lines 2. A Stanley shopmate work bench which has a built in vice 3. a plumber's chain wrench that bites into the bomb 4. The best advice was t...

Andy, There is a neoprene gasket between the top of the blower shield (the black ribbed thing) and the body lip above it. What purpose does it serve? Also, did you lube the blower motor and is there a lube point or just squirt a bit of SAE30 on the shaft? I haven't taken mine down to that level but ...

There are several strategies that don't involve dropping the box: 1. Plan on several fluid changes which effectively dilutes the residual ATF left in the box - about 1,000 miles or less each time. Change the filter each time. 2. Rebuild the valve body so that it is both clean and any check balls, ga...
