The paint on my 84 633 is beyond shot, but it is Burgundy Red Metallic #199. It was one of the last 633s shipped to the U.S.

If converted, they can always be returned to original if you keep the metric barrels.

The inner face of the flange is as forged. The outer face is machined perpendicular to the hub and drive. Is it a mistake? I don't know.

Does the engine have the three basics: fuel pressure, injector pulses and spark? Any one missing equals a no start/no run.

I'm guessing you have an automatic transmission, because that is the warning light for a transmission fault.

The E36 M50/52 etc had a pair of pipes on the same side of the bumper coming out of the same muffler. One only opened/flowed exhaust at high RPM, controlled by a vacuum line from the intake.
