I agree with you. I've always hankered after a white E24 with red buffalo hide Recaros. I reckon I've had most colours, but never a white one :(

I'd check the distance and time to the stop sign and drive the distance in another direction. As far as the time is concerned; I would let the car idle for about 50% of the time it takes to drive to the stop sign and then drive that direction. What would I accomplish with that you may ask? Just to ...

I did this job on the wife's E30 some years ago. From memory, there are loads of shims and I think maybe a "ball & socket" assembly. You need to go to your main agent and work through the exploded parts diagram with him. A fiddly job, but well worth the effort!

Well, the connector looks like one for the wing mirror electrics. Could the other one be for a tweeter? Probably not, but that was my first reaction!

I think that white ones are the most "honest" as they cannot conceal any rust at all.

If you have the wings, get them on the car - many people will still not wish to have to get them fitted. Otherwise, aim to sell the car for ?2250-?2500 and sell the wings separately to help make up the shortfall.

What's going on with white E24s on ebay UK?

Currently there are five listed, including one M635. A few weeks ago another white M635 was listed, then another - neither sold. Up until very recently, I had hardly seen ANY white E24s, EVER! So what goes? Is it that once a white E24 owner sees another listed, they cannot resist listing theirs as w...

I hope for the vendor's sake that all those bidders are genuine.......

+1 on that. Also, make sure that the bearings on the blower motor spindle are well lubricated. They can often dry out. It should spin freely without dragging.

If you remove the glass you avoid any possibility of an "accident". Also, it wouldn't hurt to lube the working parts whilst its apart.

The best way would be if an Aussie was travelling back home and sending a container with household goods? Maybe you could ask around. An entrepreneur could ship a dozen dashboards and I'm sure he could sell them for a good profit. The problem with sending a packing case is that charges are made on e...

I think you've exposed it on ebay too many times. Probably best to garage it for a few months and try again in the spring.

That looks similar to mine (non M), in that thanks to sitting outside for much of its life mine looks pretty bad on top, but once you get underneath it's actually in fairly good nick for the age. From the ebay description, plus what the vendor said, I get the impression that its not as good as your...

Syncro hub/ring? You can get around this in the short term by starting the car in 1st or reverse gear with the clutch pedal in.

You'll certainly have to remove the console over the gearbox. Maybe it will be possible to leave the top of the dash in situ, but IMO it will be a real PITA to do. Even more complicated if you have aircon. May be easier for you to bypass the heater matrix and not use the car in the winter
