Song, You would have no problem at all taking that flashlight apart and getting it working. It would be nothing for you after all your solder work with that instrument cluster. True, true - but I just don't really have a need for that flashlight. I just use the light on my iPhone on the rare occasi...

Re: refinished 16x8 bbs rs021
Those wheels look awesome. I have a set of MSW mesh wheels ( look similar to BBS RAs ) that I want to refinish. Can't decide on gold ( what they are now) or black. My car is red and the gold sure looks great with the red. I'm leaning toward black but when I see pics that look like that its hard to b...

Re: FOR SALE – Getrag 260.03 Manual Transmission
This is the 260/6 and I believe its possible to drill out the holes and tap for bolts for the speed and reference sensors. This tranny would then work fine for your e24 unless you have your heart set on the superior and more expensive 265. From Mye28: E28 Transmissions, an overview Manual G260/5 Use...

Yes, I have heard this too but it seems to fit fine and work as far as you can tell with it out of the car. Mmmm, more research needed. Thx

Re: WTB Getrag 260 transmission
With a 260/6 you will need the aluminum shifter assembly. I have a 260/5 with the sheet metal shifter assembly. I just took it off and bolted it onto the 260/6 I am going to swap into my e24. It seems to fit and shift through the gears, is there a reason only the aluminum assembly is needed for the...

Re: Coolant overflow bottle that doesn't become opaque
I assumed at least some of the orange/tan/brown color was simply old aged plastic and no amount of cleaning would change the color. The old one in my car was basically clean and almost transparent but ugly and brown. Replaced with new

Re: Headlight upgrade problem and question . . .
Dean I just found this posting searching after I had this exact same problem as the OP. I got these headlights with the understanding no other upgrading was necessary. Do you have a link or any more info on the better relays you mention. I guess the thicker gauge wire would be self explanatory, alth...

Agreed, I didn't even notice how ugly that back area is. Still a rare and interesting car. It may be for sale for a while.

Re: Warning Triangle pocket
Interesting to see the factory storage solution. The pocket looks very shallow and excessively wide to me for the warning triangle case (such as it is at least supplied in my car). Given the weight of the thing in my car with an all cast iron folding feet frame, I can't imagine this triangle stayin...

Thx for posting the pic of your triangle pocket. On the left side! I assume your headrest pods hinge up and thats where the first aid kit lived? Funny that BMW put them on both sides. Just shows there is a lot of variation with the acces.
