What I need is a lift! My neighbor has a nice 4 post lift, will have to see if he will let me use it. He is in Texas for 6 months. Will probably just have to rig up something with blocks. Thanks for your input.

Thanks. Now just have to figure out a way, car is to low to get under. Maybe I can jack up the tire untill it starts to take weight off the jack stand.

Control arms and tension strut bushings E12 based 6er

I'm going to replace the control arms (Moogs with bushings and ball joint), and the tension strut bushings (big bushings in the front of the sub frame) this weekend. Do the nuts and bolts have to be tightened after the cars weight is on the tires? Or does this not apply with this type of suspension?

Those white R9s bring back memories of my first e24 back in the 80's.
I refer to it as the "80's Don Johnson Miami Vice" look.

I've had the 225/50-16 et20, in Toyo Proxs 4, on the front of my 635 with Bilstien sports and HR springs. They fit fine. I agree with alpinacsi about the look of 245/50's on the back. You would probably be better off going to 17" wheels.

Get a lot of nice comments here in the North West USA. My favorite was a note left on my wind shield two years ago, "Sexiest E24 I have ever seen". :D

Re: To Tint or Not To Tint

I'll start by saying I'm new to being a 635 owner and that includes owning a bmw. Yay me! Aug 29 I bought an '89 and happily drove it back to Eagle Idaho - great road trip! I'm doing a lot of work myself (though it's in great shape) and have located a quality but pricey bmw exclusive shop in town. ...

Yes, she has a crack free dash. Need to re-carpet, and little chrome cover on end of door handles. I grew up in N. Idaho, but I live in Boise, that would be the foot hills in the background. I would really like to go on one of your club runs one of these times. I let my BMW club membership lapse.

I like those Ronal's, I have a set only not nearly as good!! Ronal's are a quality wheel. I put on a set of chrome wheels from Schwab, China made, could never get them balanced or running true, hub centric inserts and all. Then the chrome started pealing at the bead and the tires would not hold air...

Found a note on my 6er

This note was stuck under the windshield wiper. "Sexiest E24 I've seen in person award! Congrats!". It did bring a smile to my face.
