Any particular reason why using 10W/40 or 20W/50? Why not 5W/30 or 10W/30? I'm not a big motor oil wise guy, but isn't it also important to have your current location in mind (e.g. Phoenix, AZ vs. Bismarck, ND)? El Paso, TX is quite hot (sometimes +105F) or below freezing - as of last night for exam...

Head Rest Removal
Just checking, but how do I remove the head rests from the front seats. They move up all the way, but what's the trick to get them off the seats?
I don't want to force & pull them and eventually damage any of the electronics/mechanics of the seats.
Any ideas? Just wondering...thanks.

6er Series Owner's Manual - free copy
If anyone needs a copy of the 6er Owner's Manual, I just scanned mine. It's an 80 pager Powerpoint (about 75Mb).
I could chop it down into pieces and e-mail it perhaps in 10Mb chunks.
If interested, please post your e-mail and I'll get it on its way. I'll also check if zip'ing it helps.

Lost Radio Code
I lost my code for the original radio/cassette deck and now it's not working (along with the board computer - do they share the same code?). My local BMW dealer asks for $125.00 to dig the code out of their data base. For that kind of money I'd rather get a new one. Is there a better/cheaper way of ...
