Any particular reason why using 10W/40 or 20W/50? Why not 5W/30 or 10W/30? I'm not a big motor oil wise guy, but isn't it also important to have your current location in mind (e.g. Phoenix, AZ vs. Bismarck, ND)? El Paso, TX is quite hot (sometimes +105F) or below freezing - as of last night for exam...

Here is a copy of mine, painted in "Smoke" gray metallic. This is really a beautiful color, especially in bright sun light.

Thanks anyway, actually I thought so, they may think the radio is stolen or so. I'll try again here locally, possibly asking another BMW salesman. Who knows, perhaps there are still people out there who help you on something that was paid for many moons ago?!

Great Jose, thanks for converting and creating the link. I did not know how to do it, otherwise I would have gone that path...

It's kind of frustrating a car w/o its manual.

Found some more info on the radio (# F80715523). Also the board computer screams for a code.

Well, no...the seat looks kind of all sawn together, don't really see how to remove the back side from it.

Head Rest Removal

Just checking, but how do I remove the head rests from the front seats. They move up all the way, but what's the trick to get them off the seats?
I don't want to force & pull them and eventually damage any of the electronics/mechanics of the seats.
Any ideas? Just wondering...thanks. :-k

6er Series Owner's Manual - free copy

If anyone needs a copy of the 6er Owner's Manual, I just scanned mine. It's an 80 pager Powerpoint (about 75Mb).
I could chop it down into pieces and e-mail it perhaps in 10Mb chunks.

If interested, please post your e-mail and I'll get it on its way. I'll also check if zip'ing it helps.

Here in the greater El Paso, TX area we don't have that many BMW dealers, guess that's why they take advantage of that fact. :-k

Lost Radio Code

I lost my code for the original radio/cassette deck and now it's not working (along with the board computer - do they share the same code?). My local BMW dealer asks for $125.00 to dig the code out of their data base. For that kind of money I'd rather get a new one. Is there a better/cheaper way of ...
