Re: Considering my *next* shark

My two cents worth- An E24 door that has to be slammed to close needs a pretty inexpensive plastic sleeve (aka bump stop, BMW p/n 51211809735) replaced on the door latch. Replace that, and your door will most likely close as it should, unless, of course, the door is not aligned properly. Most E24's ...

Phoenixop- This link may be helpful to you when servicing your E24- I know it's for 1986 and newer, but your '85 is so similar to the '86 cars, you should have this link saved. https://www.bmwtechinfo.com/repair/main/631en/index.htm For the earlier cars: https://www.bmwtechinfo.com/repair/main/227en...

Bring A Trailer M6

The blue M6 on auction on Bring A Trailer just sold for $60,000 USD.
The M6 winner of this auction also won the Bring A Trailer auction last week for a 1994 BMW 850 CSi- the holy grail of the E31 design.

Re: boot leak

I agree with Pod. Those tail lamp assembly to body rubber gasket/seals can get old and tired- and they start to leak. They can also shrink after some 20-25 years! You may also have an issue with the trunk (or on your side of the pond world...."boot") lid gasket. That rubber can shrink as w...

I had the rear seat back on my E30 Cab redone by Pacific Auto Trim on W. 5th in Vancouver. PM me if you would be interested in a review of their work.

I too am thinking about buying the seat kits to re-trim the front and rear seats on my E24.........

As a 1991 850i owner for the last three years and an E24 owner since 2000, I like them both for different reasons. Chicks still seem to check out the E24 and guys seem to notice the E31. Check out bimmerforums E31-
Lots of discussion there.

Ah....$39.9 is a high price, but hey, it's a very rare Canadian model. Everyone in Canada wants to buy cars from California- and now you see why! Those Canadian models are just too darn expensive, eh.
