Re: M635 exhaust pieces
Thanks Craig. I appreciate you replying back. I looked at that image, and others, on RealOEM and looked at my car, and I believe there is still a piece between what is shown and the end of the headers (manifolds). Unfortunately my exhaust was hacked up by a PO who had the thing welded all the way th...

M635 exhaust pieces
I am trying to figure out the part number for the correct middle stretch of the exhaust system for an '85 M635, without CAT. When I look in RealOEM I don't see it shown. I see the exhaust manifold and the middle and rear mufflers, but I don't see the piece that connects those 2 things. If I look at ...

Back on track, the calipers turned out nice. Can't wait to see them on the car.nsxguy7 wrote:Rear calipers turned out great. I had some "M" decals made and covered them with a couple of coats of clear...

On the back: 84181CA 04805689AB (looks laser-etched, maybe a serial number?) GNTX-221 (that's actually the model number) SO, nothing that looks like an OEM BMW part number, but Gentex is the manufacturer, and they sell to many car companies. I just realized I can't find the instruction sheet the eB...

Hey, a bit late I know, but I finally took a look at my front crossmember off the M635, and was a little surprised to see those welded in reinforcement pieces. They looked just like the image Ralph showed. For reference of time, my car is an '85, built in early January of '85. I am 99% sure that cro...

Re: front crossmember... differences....?
I'm thinking of adding various reinforcements to my crossmember anyway... so unless anyone can think of a good reason why not, this is now on the list.... cheers Brucey, May I ask what sort of reinforcements you were thinking of making and why you think they are needed or at least valued? Thanks, E...

Eric, You're a lucky man being able to fit the bunch of snakes manifold: with the rhd steering box I spent a lot of time and effort trying to get an E34 S38 manifold to fit, then had to give up. £900 later, I had a Fritz manifold which is nothing like as good as your set up! Cheers, Rob Couldn't a...

FWIW I don't remember there being any heat shield brackets on a RHD crossmember. I guess on LHD cars the heat shield that is used on M30 engined cars is bolted on somewhere else? cheers As far as I know that extra heat shield I mentioned above isn't used on cars that don't have the bundle of snakes...

Brucey, I happen to have an e28 535 front cross member and my M635 cross member. I remember looking over both of them closely to decide which to clean up and get powder coated. After looking at them closely and going back to the factory diagrams on RealOEM, I remember 1 difference. It wasn't the &qu...

I understand that feeling. Congrats. You deserve it. I agree we need to hook up. Any chance you are coming to the Euro Car Fest next weekend? BMW is the featured marque this year. I'm not entering anything this year, but will be there to check everything out. Let me know if you can make it so we can...

Do you have any more details on the adjustable camber and caster pieces you added to your subframe? What sort of cutting and welding did you have done? Also, where did you locate the plates relative to the holes, and where did you get your plates or kit from: IE, Dungeon Motorsport, someone else? Th...

I am in the process of refurbing and upgrading my suspension, F&R. I will be replacing all rubber bushings, control arms, steering linkage, etc. I switching over to e32 rear trailing arms. I'm adding the Ireland Engineering eccentric bolts to the rear subframe to allow for caster and camber adju...
