A = does not correspond to fog light switch wiring. B = ?? C = ?? D = Brown is ground. Green/yellow is 12v + from the AC selector switch. Blue is temp sensor input to the heater regulator. Fog light switch wiring should be grey/red and grey. Note this is for a 1986 635csi. You have not specified you...

Re: 1988 M6 for sale

Cars, when all is said and done JZ, are only material possessions. I got divorced some 20 years ago when I owned my first 635csi. Had to get rid of it for the same reasons. I have another one now, along with it's stablemate,my very rapid E46 M3. Time will heal all.

Couple of pages have defunct image links. Looking at the HTML code for Dean's posts show he was using Smugmug for image hosting. Perhaps an approach to them might yield some results ?

Damn shame he has gone :(

The round and the rectangle units are basically the same. You just need the pin outs. The switch should be closed at WOT and idle. This is the E34 M5 unit diagram.

Re: 1980 635CSi Euro

The valve on the housing is simply a spring/piston type arrangement. I believe it can be removed by taking out the massive allen headed plug. When I was looking into this for my S38B36, I found several good basic descriptions online. Here's one; https://www.pgfilters.com/blog/can-happen-oil-filter-p...

I think you're running the oil cooler Ted ? Check the pressure relief valve in the oil filter housing.

Re: Took one for the team...

I would like to add here that I have been running Xpel from MisterFixit now on my precious and NOS Euro headlights for some time. They have stood up to the test of time.

Am now looking for the same Xpel film for my Euro style 1986 fog lights. MisterFixit can you do this ?

No problem. I did find him very easy to deal with and responsive.

I've got to tackle flushing the coolant system today possibly. This means jacking the front end up and removing the block drain plug, which looks like a right bitch to get out.

Re: On the road again in a M6

Nice pick up ! The wheels actually look quite good to my eye. Far better than what you sometimes see people using. Of course, you cannot go past a nice set of style 32s, style 5s, or AC Schnitzer Monoblocks for these cars.

Yes, deinitely helped Song. Thanks for you detailed write up. Small progress today. Made up a mounting spacer for the 140a E34 M5 alternator. This has the wide lug spacing as opposed to narrow for the E24 era. Found an M8 threaded rod plus M8 hex threaded spacer and drilled this out to 8.5mm and ins...
