It's a bit deceptive that angle Ken. It is longer than appears in that shot and has a slight ridge.

My concerns with that particular radiator, other than the obvious fitment issues, could be build-quality and reliability. It's almost surely Chinese-made, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but who are you going to call if it falls apart? When I buy the Wizard radiator, I've got a 25-year old US ...

Aha. It's in the late model '86. Mine is March 1986, think that's early.

Thanks Brucey, yes there is an extra resistor in that circuit and will be checking that. Doesn't explain why the headlights should affect it though ?

Fuel sender/gauge problem

Has anyone come across this ? When I bought the 6 the fuel gauge did not work. I investigated and tested the sender which hadvery high resistance (meg ohms). It should be between 3 and 70 ohms depending fuel level (Bentley). The low level fuel switch did work however. Tested system with my little po...

Hehehe, yeah, nah, think I'll stay over here :) Been talking with Dave on this and personally my engineers brain just does not like Alpha N or speed density algorithm method of "estimating" required fuel. I like something that is real world and molecule counting, AKA, a MAF. On the subject...

OK thanks for that guys. I could probably make an OEM E34 M5 box work too. I will be installing an aftermarket carbon fibre plenum which should alleviate (I hope) the need to shift brake master and I'm also putting in a Miller MAF as I don't have the stock MAF. At this stage will be running the stan...

Hi Madman. I have ordered a set from the German supplier above, but if they don't materialise I'll definitely contact you. Are these headlights you have the non US version ? (part numbers above).

M30 extractors

M30 extractors by a guy in Oz. Apparently a direct copy of Fritzbitz; http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/roselands/other-parts-accessories/brand-new-bmw-e24-e28-extractors-headers-635csi-m535i-528i/1076590212 I have no affiliation with this guy or idea of quality. Just bringing it to attention as it may...

What's your budget ? Accepted wisdom goes something like; chip>headers>head work>cam>pistons>stroking for NA. You can also turbo an M30 nicely. You can purchase a performance upgraded M30 from Metric Mechanic or similar > not cheap. You can do a swap as I am; S38/M88 > not cheap. So many options dep...

This is gonna be a long shot. Wanting the above for my S38B36 into E24 project. I really don't want to have to run one of those crappy cone filters. Ralph, can you save me again ?? :) http://mfans2.com/parts/catalog/E24/Europe/M635CSi-S38/R-M/mar1986/browse/fuel_preparation_system/suction_silencer_f...

Pretty standard to start with Gaz except for a Miller MAF (don't have the OEM one). I may look at stand alone ECU a bit down the track.

No, because the lights above have asymmetric lenses.
