Thank you! It was more work than I originally intended but I think it was worth it.

Re: Matthewdesigns jumps in the deep end / 633CSi
@zinnocoupe That seems like a good estimation of its use, one that I had not considered. Thanks for responding, and for the kind words regarding the panels. I still have an eye out for a good OEM set at a price I can live with as that would be my preference.

Re: Matthewdesigns jumps in the deep end / 633CSi
Thanks for the support on this unorthodox refitting. I had a pretty good idea that it would look OK, but you never know until it's all together! @GRNSHRK: I have the pulls and armrests from an e30 coupe in black and I had considered trying to work them in somehow, but nothing really aligned properly...

Re: Matthewdesigns jumps in the deep end / 633CSi
I'm surprised that this ^^^ is such a mystery. Must not be important so I won't sweat that detail. As shown previously the door cards/panels were pretty terrible, and given the price of good condition replacements I decided to make something instead. I considered just skinning the doors in aluminum ...

Re: Matthewdesigns jumps in the deep end / 633CSi
OK, so a boring question in the midst of more important tasks: what is the function of this clip on the lug wrench (circled)? My car did not have any tire changing accessories and I'm buying them here and there, and it seems that the later revisions of the wrench do not have this clip. Is it require...

I thought about pulling it and having a closer look. It will just more or less pop out of the base with a twist and pull, correct?

Re: Odd question: Are there different interior mirrors for RHD and LHD cars?
@MrE Thanks for running your RHD VIN for this part. That is indeed the same part number I get for my car. Hmm. Guess I'll live with it until I don't.
And yes, affixed to the ceiling not the windshield...thanks for specifying! Not sure how I overlooked that.

Odd question: Are there different interior mirrors for RHD and LHD cars?
My windshield-mounted mirror does not pivot as far to the left as it does to the right, and I can just barely get it to pivot far enough to the left to allow me to align it for a proper look out the rear window. However if I sit in the passenger seat on the right I have a huge range of movement with...

Re: lowered expectation
Wheels look great shaved. Like that color on them, too. Nice work on everything sharkade! At full extension is the car above OEM height with your suspension? Does it ride the same regardless of where you have it set? Is that pic above at full compression or is there some low left in there? Airbag no...

Re: Matthewdesigns jumps in the deep end / 633CSi
Edit: Added photos Been a few weeks since I checked in. In the interim I've tracked down a brake fluid leak that was fairly massive but an easy fix, replaced the heater blower motor, replaced the primary windshield washer tank/pump and flushed the lines, changed the transmission fluid, revisited the...

Re: Need help - no heat
The heater motor is not operating at all even with 12V present via the normal harness connection. The A/C motor operates at high speed only, and only when the A/C switch is depressed. I checked voltage at the heater motor and saw only 12V when the speed control was moved...not a variable range. Seem...

Re: Need help - no heat
Thank you. Yes, I do have both the manual and a multimeter. I will test the motor as described and see what happens...perhaps I did not have a secure enough connection on one or the other terminals on the motor the first time I tried this. I did verify incoming voltage at the two leads that connect ...

Re: Matthewdesigns jumps in the deep end / 633CSi
Thanks for the encouragement! I'll make it out there with you folks at some point. FYI my coworkers report having a great time, and really liking the new venue. One of them is the nut who drove his e30 drift car over for the event  I was able to spend some quality time at home instead of with...

Re: Need help - no heat
OK so yeah this thread is pretty old, but instead of starting a new one to hash out some of the same stuff I'm necromancing it... I have a scenario similar to combo #4 listed above: A/C blower operates (but only on High), and zero response from the heater blower. I'm trying to save myself from blind...

Carpet before
Carpet after. Still not as clean as I'd like but at least the worst of it is under the seat! I think a full replacement is inevitable.

Re: Matthewdesigns jumps in the deep end / 633CSi
Thanks Song! Seems as though Ed at MWrench is still in business as I now have a steering box repair brace on the way over. Door card planning is underway, trying not to succumb to my urge to just skin it in aluminum, add a pull strap, and be done with it. I have some e30 handles and pockets that may...

Matthewdesigns jumps in the deep end / 633CSi
OK, now that we all know the M badge needs to come off the car  I figured I'd start a project thread. 1984 633CSi, 158k miles indicated (but the odo gear is broken so who knows), Arctic white with Pearl Beige, e30 sport seats that have needed upholstery for a while, cracked plastic everywhere...

Re: Long time listener, first time caller
Haha the M-Police on patrol. I figured out how to change the headlights last weekend, so now I know what to do to pull the M badge off safely. Oddly it appears to have been on the grill for a while as the rear of the horizontal slat to which it's affixed is deformed by the metal clips, and the small...

Re: Long time listener, first time caller
MrE: Feels good to have one in hand for sure. Heck, I just look out the window in disbelief once in a while :D tschultz: I first saw it about 6 weeks ago and the ad disappeared. Popped back up about a month later by the same seller (in Monument) and I grabbed it. He owned it for about a year, prior ...

Re: Long time listener, first time caller
Thanks for the welcome! baders: Yes, plenty of work to be done. Among other less urgent items I just discovered the CSI fuel line is leaking...made for an interesting drive yesterday. Managed to avoid a barbeque and parked it until I can swap it out this weekend. GRNSHRK: The wheels were definitely ...
