Picture this scenario. For whatever reason, at some stage the OBC horn operated. The relay coil energised and the contacts close. For whatever reason (worn contacts, shorts, over-current), the contacts at that stage carried excess current and welded shut. The OBC horn relay coil would have de-energi...

Speakers 4x6 fronts
Following on from the thread in Saloon, I'm looking into upgrading my front speakers. The existing 50w max Coustic fronts are easily being over-driven by my new Pioneer head unit. I am checking out the Infinity Kappa 462.11 plate speakers which will be a vast improvement at 60w RMS. I just have to m...

The on-board computer control box is separate to the OBC display itself, and can be replaced. The relay in the control box itself I don't know. If you are brave it looks as though you can pull that control box apart. By doing this you may be able to replace or repair the actual faulty relay. If, as ...

Song do you have the Electrical Troubleshooting manual ? If not, you really should download it :) It is available through links here on BC somewhere. The Onboard computer relay is under the left hand side dash. There may well be a problem with your on board computer relay, but the relay in turn is d...

Eric, You're a lucky man being able to fit the bunch of snakes manifold: with the rhd steering box I spent a lot of time and effort trying to get an E34 S38 manifold to fit, then had to give up. £900 later, I had a Fritz manifold which is nothing like as good as your set up! Cheers, Rob Rob. I am ...

Can anybody tell me what this transistor does? I put a voltage tester on it, and it seems to be working. I just don't know what its role is. Opening the heater flaps, possibly? In basic terms, the transistor acts as an amplifier. Looking at the picture below, current to the blower motor (green arro...

Save yourself all the trouble, buy this and add the fluid temp and pressure modules. I have it fitted and it is great, the gauge is small enough to mount in the grille above the ashtray and still clear the A/C fan. http://www.plxdevices.com/Wideband-O2-Touch-Screen-Multi-Guage-p/897346002719.htm Mm...
