Nice pinstripes too! Yes, the pinstripes (which include an "M" at the front end) were definitely a bonus, as they're nostalgic for me. My dad always used to have pinstripes done on his cars in the 70's and 80's, so to me it's totally period appropriate... whereas for my 335i, not so much!...

Hello Sabine. You appear to be a very attractive girl. Have your new handler post MORE PICS! Welcome to the madness! Thanks. Here's some engine goodness. It's a bit dusty but otherwise pretty clean except around the valve cover (seeping gasket). I love the noise it makes, even at low RPM. Muscular ...

Nice looking m6 there. Have u got any interior pics. These were taken by the previous owner, but are fair game since I haven't made any changes yet (other than the obligatory 303 on the dash!). The dash is excellent shape, as are almost all plastic bits. The seats (esp. bolsters) are showing a bit ...

Please say hello to Sabine

I'd like to introduce Sabine, my newly acquired '88 M6 with Royal Blue exterior / silver gray interior, and 112K miles. Despite her German heritage, she's been a SoCal girl all of her life, and has the body to prove it. She's got a few cosmetic issues (don't we all?), but nothing a little TLC won't ...

How's this for a collection?

I didn't see any Sharks amongst the many tasty models here (most are earlier years), but it's nonetheless a mouthwatering collection. Who IS this guy? And more importantly, how do I invite myself to his garage? [-o< http://www.stanceworks.com/2012/05/the-collector-bmw-history-preserved/ Enjoy, Paul

Chris Harris E28 M5 on "Drive"

Chris Harris has nice little video on the E28 M5 as part of the ongoing "Drive" YouTube series, check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzOPR7STqrQ.

He mentions he'll be driving other M cars this year, so we can only hope that the E24 M6 or M635CSi appear soon!

But perhaps good for a parts car, if it's too far gone? Although we'd have to see picts of the interior to determine how much is salvageable.

anywhere from $10 to 25K is an attractive price after seeing how much this one is selling for in near mint. http://newportcoastauto.com/profile.php?vin=WBAEE310001053036 I've looked at this listing several times and think it's crack smoking compared to the rest of the market. Admittedly it has very...

Re: 88 M6 for sale

The 15 inch tires and wheels on the Cardiff car must be undersize, they look like a smaller diameter, I wonder how they fit over the M6 calipers. The speedo must be effected. I may have misunderstood the rim size when I took a look at it, because you're right in that 15" would likely be too sm...

Have you looked at the M6 in Colorado? tschultz has a beautiful red 88 M6 for sale at a great price. I wish I could afford it. Look at http://bigcoupe.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=17216 Hi Ralph - thanks for the input. I've read the thread about tschultz's car... indeed a beautiful specimen, and will...

Re: Help me evaluate an M6 for purchase

I wouldn't spend a cent on those wheels. They're a chromed set of later BMW alloys. If you like the style, buy a set without the chrome and sell these off. Otherwise, start hunting down a set of the original style BBS cross-spokes - or any other wheels than these. These truly suck. Thanks for the i...

Help me evaluate an M6 for purchase

Hi everyone - I decided to post this here instead of The Saloon section... let me know if I should've done the opposite. I'm a relative newbie in the early stages of pursuing an E24 M6. Beyond the obligatory perusing of books, magazine articles, and this website (thanks for the Buyers Guide!), I tho...

See you at Bimmerfest?

Hi all - I'll be heading down to Bimmerfest on 5/19 (likely in my 335i as part of a caravan from Santa Barbara), and would like to know if any of you will be bringing your Shark. If so, I'd love to get in touch so I can check out your car and gain a bit of wisdom during my research phase before acqu...

Brucey - thanks for the info and links. I'm seeking help for my disorder, but there is indeed only one known antidote. :P

Chris - great article, thanks. It's a sign of my early senility that I subscribe to EC, yet don't recall this one. Then again, that was before I caught the fever.

Recommended books?

Hi all - I'm a newbie here who's definitely got a worsening case of Shark fever. In researching a future E24 purchase, I will of course be reading through as many posts, buyer's guides, and tech articles on this site as possible (what a resource!). I thought I'd also go the more traditional route an...
