They can do bolt on systems too but that does make it somewhat permanent and leaves ugly pads on the roof should you take the rack off when going for a leisurely cruise. I don't know the area so well, but how's this for an idea: meet at the Don Bradman museum carpark at 9:30. More time for eating, it's a nice and shady spot for taking photos etc, easy to find and heaps of space.

On the Nullabor I seem to recall it was around 250-300, so 20L should do the trick as a safety precaution.
