Re: Bilstein & H&R Parts - What is correct?
Sine you’re in Aus you may want to check out Pedders offerings. My setup after some trial and error: Rear - Strut mounts - Bilstein B8’s - H&R springs - Kmac adjustable camber kit (stands wheels up) - Whiteline 19mm?? (can’t recall) sway bar - Dog-bones - I forget? - 255/40/17’s on 9” rims at 32...

Re: M62 engine - Power Steer pump query
I have a wizard cooling rad with a single Davies Craig pusher fan, no clutch fan, shroud or air/con, ecu controlled, works well. They will modify within reason, like I had no need for the factory temp switches so got the bosses deleted.

I would do it. If maintenance up to date, all running ok, no leaks or issues, no reason not to.

Re: ECU upgrade including coil on plug conversion.
Hope it all goes well Gaz. Good decision to use a custom loom. My set up uses 60-2 trigger, cam sensor, air temp, TPS and MAP. Also runs the fan and makes fine tuning the on/off cylce easy reading off temp sensor in the thermostat housing. I had to change the cold air valve to the later B35 3-wire m...

Re: Wood steering wheels.
Also not a fan of wood. i do think the Monte Carlo is the best looking wheel, but went with a Momo Retro @ 360mm for dash view and steering weight. Whatever make sure you get the right hub and spline for your car.

Installing a catch can is a good idea. Will stop all that oil gunking things up. You just have to remember to regularly drain and clean it out. Some photos of how I plumbed mine - I flipped the rubber inlet boot to avoid crossing the hoses.

If you're considering upgrading your brakes the 750 MC is a direct fit and about half the cost. (I have in my '85) https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/34311156643.htm?pn=34-31-1-156-643-M4&SVSVSI= Others have used this on their standard setup, same for E30 folk. https://bigcoupe.com/phpBB3/vi...

The rub point to beware of on the front is the inside of the tyre on the strut.

You'll need B8's if you're going to lower it. If you're after good handling should also look at larger sway bars, and the suspension bushes in general

Adhesive for mirror glass backing plate
Drivers side mirror glass recently fell out after previous repair / glue failed. I have a new glass to stick on the plastic backing plate. Am looking for advice on best glue to use to fix the backing plate to the adjustable mounting base plate, via the 4 small lugs, so very little surface area and l...

Re: 82-89 centre tie rod; a RHD problem?
Hi Colin. I can't answer your q re pre '82 cars but have had to replace a couple in my '85, the most recent last year where thanks to a tip from an Aus member managed to get one from Rock Auto in the US (Delphi brand). To prevent further problems sourcing future replacements I sent my old one (Lemfo...

The bush in the BMW arm, the one with the green insert is a Meyle HD bush. These are like a half way house between stock rubber and full poly. They are available as inserts and they are generally regarded as a good upgrade (to rubber) - press in. I'm currently running these in Lemforder arms, which ...

Re: Are Front Control Arm Ball Joints Replaceable?
Should be able to - just need to find someone to do it. I did this (not me personally) no too long ago witch my centre drag link as the RHD versions are very scarce now. But consider replacing the oem steel for oem alloy. From memory the e39 or e34 lc arms are a direct swap.
