Re: LHD Wing Mirrors for RHD Car

They are not designed to be interchangeable, although of course they will fit. There is a difference between the angle of the passenger mirror housing and driver mirror housing. If you look carefully at the mirrors on your car you will see the passenger side mirror housing is angled towards the wind...

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

Sorry for being dense, is this actually custom made to fit your car? I am very intrigued, looking forward to that full story :D They make an "off-the-shelf" all aluminium radiator for manual cars, the 635 and the M6, but mine is an automatic, so I asked them to add an oil cooler, so it's ...

Two warning triangles, which are needed in some European countries.

Re: Stuck with motronics problems Flensburg, Germany

Just out of interest, if your car is a late model one and has the OBDI style connector, did they find any fault codes stored in the Motronic unit?
I keep a fault code reader in the boot.

Re: What did you do to your E24 today?

This time last week I spent two days replacing the radiator with an all aluminium one from Wizard, That sounds cool! How much was it? Any pics? Thanks, Rob It cost around about $650 as the transmission oil cooler was extra. Shipping, import taxes and so on were extra. https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/...

This time last week I spent two days replacing the radiator with an all aluminium one from Wizard, replacing all the coolant hoses (I only replaced them 14 years ago) for no obvious reason as they were absolutely fine, replaced the water pump, thermostat and engine mounts. Not an easy job. And I fel...

Thanks for that, but I want the entire unit. I have one on order from BMW at the moment, but the delivery times keep changing. It's not so urgent now as I've done my cooling system work.

Re: Warning Triangle pocket

Nicely done. My car already had the warning triangle pocket in it and I did the opposite to you by removing the pocket from the original cardboard trim and making new trim from aluminium whilst re-using the original pocket. I've done this with all the boot trim, as cardboard really isn't a great mat...

You have a nice looking car with lots of options like cruise control, heated seats and the wonderful magnetic key alarm system. I drove my car to Sweden to fews ago and took it from Malmo, through Stockholm, Uppsala, Umea and on to Jokkmokk. It's a great car for cruising around Sweden. I didn't see ...

The current BMW price is £360 (inc VAT) for the magnetic key lock. You don't get any keys with it, they're extra. I bought mine at the very reasonable price of 291 euros :-& The exchange rate was better in those days. I already had a magnetic key so used that. I'm not sure whether it's p...

Re: 87 M6 E24 correct oil for transmission and diff?

If your car has a limited slip differential then you'll need something like Castrol Syntrax (fully synthetic) 75W-140 which includes the correct additives and is what BMW originally advised.

I've used this product from the UK based Gliptone for about 15 years now and it's fantastic. The car smells like a Rolls Royce after treatment as the conditioner contains a "leather perfume" which lasts for many months.

They attach to the front using an existing bracket and screw into the rear using one of the splash panel ...
