Re: Cold A/C but only in the back seat
Usually an indication of a low charge in the system - throw a set of gauges on it to check. Unfortunately, it also often indicates a leak in the system, especially if it was working fine previously.

Thanks from me, too, Ralph. I bought the paint a very long time ago, and now I can use it. One more tiny detail made right.

Re: M6 stalling out, some bucking at low RPM
Got the orange LED voltmeter today. Looks really nice, but I don'[have it hardwired, yet. Just tried the red (+) and black (-), and the display just shows 00.0, but there is also a green and I didn't want to experiment with. Contacted seller, and pics to follow.

Re: Center Console Issues
That's an interesting question, and my guess would have been that all the consoles for a manual gearbox would be the same. I've got mine sitting right here next to me on the dining room table (wife's not home) because I just remounted the OBC. Lowe's has the M3 x 10mm screws, but the heads are a bit...

I've got this stuff, which I guess is the same as what you're recommending:
I used it this AM on some of the contacts in the speedo/odo assembly, and it seems to work pretty well.

You can buy 10 ounce cans of Keyboard Duster at WalMart for around $4 each, and a full charge is less than 3 cans. You need a side-tap to get the gas out: https://www.amazon.com/Mastercool-85530-Side-Mount-Valve/dp/B0002SQLGC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502284795&sr=8-1&keywords=refrigerant+...

We have an old washer we put in the green house. You can buy used appliance fairly cheap, at least around here. What I want next is a big oven, for powdercoating.

Re: Biggest Condenser That'll Fit?
Thanks, Ken. That was a very interesting and informative presentation about the R152a. I had heard about the flammability, maybe a few years ago, and I took a can outside and tried to use it as a blow torch - like we did as kids with spray paint. It's not nearly so easy to ignite the vapor stream, o...

Song, I believe condensation will occur on the exposed metal hose/fitting sections at the evaporator. I'd suggest using this: https://nostalgicac.com/insulation-cork-tape-per-roll.html I know evaporators sure do produce a lot of waste water when running! Cheers, Ah, so that looks like the stuff I w...

Mine actually isn't that shiny anymore - a bit oxidized and dull, and I'm not crawling under there to clean it. It's a mediocre polish job, not chrome, and life is tough down there close to the road.

BUMP - I've currently got 3 more mirrors ready to ship, at various feature and budget levels. 1) Another one as pictured at the beginning of this thread - Auto-dim, Homelink, an amber compass display $105 shipped in thw US. 2) This one is another Auto-dim, but it doesn't have the Homelink feature, a...

Re: Biggest Condenser That'll Fit?
You might jam a 16 x 22 in there, but you'd have trouble with the hoses and fittings. 16 x 19 is what works, and it's also tight. Personally, R134 is not acceptable in any car not originally made to use it. R12 is great, but pricey, and the best recommendation I can make for a high-performance refri...

Re: Best contact cleaner for instrument panel?
I'll be sure to post some pics, especially of the circuit board connectors. Hopefully, the LEDs in the dash will look close to what the dash lights looks oked like when the car was new, or maybe a bit brighter. Problem I've had with some of the LEDs is that their light just doesn't disperse the same...

Re: Best contact cleaner for instrument panel?
Hi Bert, I'm sure there are lots of other household products that would work as well. I once used Lysol toilet bowl cleaner (that thick blue stuff) on the fuse box contacts on one of my old Alfa spiders, and the contacts were as shiny as new, but I wonder about using something that caustic and if it...
Re: Key Light
If you're good with a soldering iron, I'd put an LED in there. I'm guessing maybe a 5mm would fit in there nicely, like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/20-PCS-5mm-Super-Bright-Round-White-LED-35-000mcd-US-seller-/111181608588? manual boxes are always noisier than auto boxes. Lots of gears and bearings and synchros on the lay and mainshaft, and they're all somewhat loose so they can move around as necessary.

Some are worse than others, but I'd describe the sound as an old coffee can full of nuts and bolts. It worst if you're at a drive-thru window so the sound can reflect off the wall, but otherwise you really don't notice it much. My E30 M3 was like that brand-new.

I will. There shouldn't be any real weakness in the transmission in an '85 Euro 635. They rattle a fair amount at idle, but that's nothing unusual, or to,worry about.

Yeah, they make a lot of different products. Advice I've been getting is to use this: https://www.amazon.com/CAIG-LABORATORIES-D100L-2DB-Electric-Cleaner/dp/B0002BBVN2/ref=sr_1_9/133-8968232-5296866?ie=UTF8&qid=1501642509&sr=8-9&keywords=deoxit+100 It's 100% strength, as opposed to the 5...
