"B35" starter purchase suggestions
Hi chaps, I'm going to need another starter for the project car. For me, it's a no-brainer to get the later, smaller, starter from the E34 /E32 M30B35 -engined cars. Like all the bits, it's getting hard to find decent second hand parts and I am bewildered at the range of aftermarket stuff. A remanuf...

The ones with the fantastic corduroy faces, weren't they from an E12 originally?
Did they have the sprung hinges though?

Recaro sprung hinge covers?
Hi fellas, These seats are, apparently, from an early S1. I've never seen the inner hinge with the spring in the pictures - zero rattles! I'm missing the cover for the r/h seat - has anyone seen this type before? no labels extant, leather very dry and recoloured from original pearl beige (sorry, Don...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a highline only thing?sideshowbob wrote: ↑Sun May 15, 2022 7:13 pm Looking for boot plastic trim that runs along the top rear of the boot area.
It is in two parts and joins together around the boot lock mechanism.
Thanks

Re: UK early S2 breaking this weekend
Same question as Soperman for me - I "need" (as in, I don't need, but would like) a grey carpet to include the centre console carpeted bit to replace the torn and recoloured effort that I'm scooting around with, along with the parcel shelf in grey. It seems like there hasn't been a sixer t...

Beautiful car - congratulations.
Look at the oil pipe that runs down from the rear of the head - it's an M88 thing. There's an O ring at the top and a gasket at the bottom - both likely culprits for your leak.

Thank you, Ralph
Always an absolute pleasure to deal with, Ralph made my day today with a surprise inclusion of the window winders for the tool kit along with the fuel sender I needed. It was a day of much frustration that ended with one of the acts of kindness that puts everything in a much brighter frame - the sor...

Re: This is Spinal Tap 635
Thank you! It was such an unadulterated joy driving it yesterday. A drive I will remember. The Eibachs with the M635 Bilsteins and 25mm front/18mm rear arbs work much better than I could have hoped for, and the dogleg box really does encourage giving it some beans! I forgot to thank Phil - sorry mat...

Re: M30 intake manifold
I dare say it will fit, but you want the other one! - the very last M90s (running the 002 Bosch ecu IIRC) had the M30 B34 manifold fitted, with 3.2/3.5 on the vertical part of the inlet. I'm in the UK and I've got a spare one or two of these, plus a spare earlier M90 "banana" inlet if of a...

Cylindrical one on passenger and driver's side of all cars I've owned except the M, and that had the reinforced metal one on rh side only. Different part number for M r/h mount as well, although it looks identical to reinforced ones in your picture. cylindrical ones tend to look like The Cat in the ...

Oh nice! I didn't know it was a split box. Will do and report back. Looking back at some old photos I was wrong in saying that the case splits .... If you detach it from it's mounting to the inner wing and invert it you will expose the soldered joints I speak off. Sorry Pod, I missed this! He's struggling a bit, to be honest. The plan to visit him in October fell through due to Covid here, so I've only had brief conversations with him. There hasn't been the progress he'd have liked and that is frustrating him. Naturally, he was well-equipped to educate me on ...

Re: M90 motronic rotor adapter
Thank you, I suspected it might be a little more involved! I'm told the profile of the B35 cam is very similar to the Hartge one suitable for the M90, so it might work out okay in any case.

M90 motronic rotor adapter
Hi chaps,
If I wanted to run an M90 on Motronic, is this the adapter I need? I know I'll need a different upper timing chain cover and rocker cover too - but this is the part I'm most interested in.
Many thanks,
Rob

Re: Coolant hose to expansion tank - too short
Original hose marked 1284598 phx4875, but that doesn't yield any results. Here's a picture to better illustrate: hose.jpg As you can see, I've had to route "Shorty" over the top of the PAS/bomb plumbing. Better to go with short and stretched, or long and old if I can't get the right hose? ...

Coolant hose to expansion tank - too short
Hi chaps, I've just refurbed the cooling system in the project car with the kit from W&N. The hose, the one that tees off under the intake manifold to attach to the underside of the expansion tank, part number 11531272835, is the right shape, but too short, meaning the hoses running under the ma...
