The difference is about 25 years in technological advancement with turbos and tuning. I suppose I am looking at it with rose colored glasses on. As far as the turbo is concerned, there are upgrades available. I sold one of my K27's not too long ago and could probably get a nice T4 with a little bit...

Am I missing something (745i turbo build)?
It seems like everyone's going with TCD. I had a Cartech kit at one point in time but chose to sell it in favor of the 745i kit. Sold the Cartech kit for $2800 and picked up the 745i kit for $1900. I still have the kit and now that my sixer is back (honda civic guy in over his head, got it back for ...

Picutes in the dark
I'm partially happy thus far. I like the output of the led lights but the cover on the parking light will have to go, would like more light there. The output all the way around was move even but is lacking on some levels. Not too worried about it though, my main concern was brake lights and they're ...

I had a surplus of resistors lying around and, after looking at the prices for a LED flasher, figure I'd stick with them. I realize you can get a flasher relay for a buck or two but I like some kind of accountability so an American supplier would cost me around $10. I got it done for half the price.

My latest
I wanted to play with the idea as well so I set out to find readily available parts to make these LED tail lights. I was going to go as far as wiring in resistors for every bulb, the heat the put out when in constant use made them a problem to put on the housing. I did put a resistor on the turn sig...

JB makes one that relocates the filter, I haven't seen a spin-on version from anyone else in a long time. Two things; Not enough interest and my method of connecting it to the housing made it necessary for me to modify the housing. If I had a way to do it without modifying the housing, I'd probably ...

I have a used but bench tested and working heater blower motor with cages out of an 80 euro 635 that I can trade you for half payment towards one of your oil filter adapters I know you have hidden deep in your closet. I ended up buying a cageless blower motor and used the sample cages I received fr...

Yup
I inquired about a minimum order, you need to buy 100 cages minimum. I didn't see any interest so I dropped the idea. It does blow a bit more air, I never put it past 1/2 now. Just get yourself a new motor and work the cages loose from the old one (with care). Spray both ends with WD-40 and grab bot...

Blower motors (New and improved)
My blower motor gave out on me last week so I bought a Bosch motor without the squirrel cages since the process seemed pretty simple.
I broke my second cage and a shouting contest between me and the cage ensued. I won the shouting contest but ended up with the prospect of
paying around $250...

Realoem states that it's a coding plug for the OBC or On-board computer. It tells the computer what car it resides in.

The whole lens is a possibility
The cost is pretty high. It would come to 450-500 dollars a set. They said they could do it cheaper by getting the original lenses into the casting process, this would cause the resin to bond to the original part. It would drop the price down but only by the amount it would cost to buy a set of new ...

Clear signals, front or rear? Might manufacture
Recently made a deal with a manufacturer to look into production. At this point I'm looking at $60 for the fronts in either 88-89 world or euro version and $80 for the rears. People still looking for these?

Thanks Val. I suppose I could include the angle pieces that Autometer offers. They would angle the gauges towards the driver a little more. Machining at an angle is possible, but it requires an extra setup in the machining process. I've been working on a price breakdown and piching the kits on ebay ...

Bert, I have to finish tearing up the dash to put my cover on. After that I'll put in a kit on the car and snap some better pictures. I'll probably use the vent mount on my car, I kinda like it better because it forces you to look at the gauges. I had a shifter surround gauge holder in my E34 and ne...

Decided to go back to my original plan of putting out ashtray kits. Found some leftover Delrin and went to it. I had to cut into the ashtray so you can never go back to having one. I never used mine to begin with so it wasn't a loss for me. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_4kUMqHHUL44/S753Wq_u5BI/AAAAAAAABOY/o...

Almost finished....
For now, this is what it's going to look like. The pictures make it look a little funky because of the endmill marks. I think I can get away with a slight polishing to make it loook neat and tidy. I thought about aluminum but that would quadruple the cost. Still working on the feeds and speeds, plas...
