Its going to be a replacement piece

The picture was my test piece. The final piece is going to be a complete replacement for the dash vent. I'm going to be back in the shop Monday and will start fitting it up on Wednesday.

Yeah, I got them lined up to go into the vent opening. I still have to find the right tools and cutting speeds to get a clean look. Not 100% yet but I'm still playing with it.

If all goes well, I'll do a write up on it. If it doens't go well, back to the drawing board.

Dash vent/Ashtray gauge holder

I haven't been too happy with my ashtray gauge pod so I looked up peoples designs and decided that the dash vent in front of the windshield vents is the way to go. I've been playing with some 1/8th ABS which is too flimsy for the job but it did prove the concept. I got some 3/8ths Polyethylene so th...

Wanted Vaders, found 300ZX seats cheap....

E36 Vaders are too pricey for me... So, over the next few weeks I'll be playing with some 96 300zx seats that I picked up for $125 from a local. They're beat up but a full upholstery kit is around $300 so I'm not that far into it. I'm thinking my total cost will be around $500 (installing seat heate...

Carb Cleaner

I use carb cleaner to clean out the ICV every time I do a valve adjustment. Never gave me any problems.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll have to look at getting mine done locally as well. I'm partial to the 90-96 300ZX seats, so I might go that route. I was thinking it would be over 1k for leather, too much in my book.

World Upholstery opinions/Differences in seats e30 vs e24

I came across their site and would like to know people's experiences with them. Anyone get a seat kit from them? Price when all was said and done? I'm also trying to find out whether E30 seat upholstery would work. Everythng is pointing to "No" but I want to know if anyone has tried...

Welcome aboard. Your transmission, does it clunk into gear or does the whole car jerk? Rear end shimmy might be your dogbones or rear end links... I can't remember the correct name for them. I'm sure some of the more educated members will chime in.

Doesnt work, at least I don't think so. Carbureted engines benefited because it would help with the fuel atomization. Fuel injected engines don't stand to gain anything since the fuel is added much later down the line. My logical deduction; If I'm wrong, please chime in.

George's throttle was tapered on the backside, something I do only by request these days. The bump goes from 5-15 thousanths of an inch to 1/8th of an inch when the backside is tapered. I've been tempted to do a spacer to see if it helps or hurts. I know some Ford guys who swear by them. If I ever g...

No, no need. The openings on the few manifolds I've had in the shop usually measure intetween 2.625 and 2.640.

In that case, the maximum safe bore is 2.645in on a decent core. Anything above that, you're into pitting territory. Some of the older castings won't let you go past 2.630in, keep that in mind when picking your core throttle. You can get the rest of the dimensions based off of those two numbers. Don...

What is the diffrence between you earley and mid M30 T-bodys , what is a better choice for my 1981 M90 ? The ones which I consider early throttle bodies were made for the early big six cars which had the two piece manifold. This design is altogether different from the later M30 which had a one piec...

I'm towards the end of my run with the throttle bodies. I've been having trouble with my supplier so it might become a core basis only, something I really don't want to do. If anyone here is still interested in one or has spare throttle bodies, contact me.

You got your power wire mixed up

Switch the wires around. You got 12 volts going to the signal post, thats why the needle is pegged.
