Re: High Speed - Steering is Very Loose
As always, Brucey with great info! I will add that incorrect camber and toe can add to instability, probably throw caster in there too, but not sure how much caster plays into loose steering at high speeds. Also, worn suspension parts can lead to incorrect caster, camber, toe, and several of the sit...

I put the same 4 pintle "ford" yellow top injectors in my '84 Euro with the b34. They worked fine.

You will be able to run the newer "mustang" injectors with no issues.

Re: Sudden Death
If something is loose, my guess would be #3 backed out again causing #5 to not spin. I think there is also a keyed pin (maybe #6) that keeps #5 in proper position.
Did you swap the coil and coil wire? I've seen bad coils deliver spark to the rotor but not enough to make the plugs fire.

I believe you can get the individual connector ends for the wire as well, at least I could on my old e30 when I replaced the sensor on it. I picked up those items from the dealer fairly cheap.

I believe they are all in the same location, regardless of sub model. If so, it will be located towards the center of the car from the brake booster, in the engine bay on the firewall.

Hornhospital is correct. The fuel pump will not activate until the engine is cranking.
The diagram you are using is correct for when the car is running.

Re: Speedo signal lost
I put a rebuilt cluster in my car one time, the speedo went wonky then quit about 50 miles later. I was sure it was the cluster but I swapped out the sensor in the diff with a spare I had as a quick alternative to pulling the cluster, the sensor swap fixed it. Just a complete coincidence that I had ...

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator - Which one?
I finally got around to fixing this issue. With an 059 ecu and 19 lbs (yellow top) injectors, the 3.0 bar FPR is correct. I replaced it and the car runs well.

Re: Runs fine for about 15 minutes then dies
Oh! Is there a temperature-timing sensor? Something that would trigger a different fuel mapping once the car is warmed up? If so, is it possible that it fails when the car comes up to temp? I had an older e30 Eta that wouldn't run because of a temp-timing sensor that had failed. Different fuel injec...

Re: Runs fine for about 15 minutes then dies
I'm not as familiar with the early electrical and electronics. What sensors are there for fuel/ignition timing? I'm guessing there has to be at least one sensor for fuel timing even if the ignition timing is mechanical. If there is some sort of fuel (injector) timing mechanism, that would be my gues...

Re: Runs fine for about 15 minutes then dies
Have you done a noid light test on the injector connectors while it will not run? This will verify signal to the injectors during your no-start occurrences. I would also suggest putting an inline pressure gauge on the fuel line before the FPR to check it when it won't run. These steps may not pinpoi...

I have Billy HD's with H&R sport springs (not race springs), no issues with ride height. The car lowered evenly. Check to make sure the springs are seated properly in the perches.

I'm having some internet navigation issues at the moment, otherwise I would find the exact info, but......... I replace mine with a transistor from Radio Shack. MUCH cheaper than buying the whole part from a parts supplier or BMW. There is a whole write up on it somewhere that is very helpful. Way m...

From what I have seen in the US, it usually adds to the value. However, the collection of parts for the swap are worth quite a bit themselves.

Re: 87 M6 Steering issue, I've searched and looked diagnosed. Stumped!
No, but it can get loose there and cause clunking, thunking, and clicking. Have someone move the steering wheel back and forth while you watch the steering box. You'll see the steering shaft into the box move, make sure the output is moving as well. I'm guessing you will see that the shaft moves a b...

I really like the H&R sport and Billy HD setup. Sporty, more firm that stock, a bit lower, but not to harsh of a ride. Improves steering wheel feedback as well.

Re: Fuel Pressure Regulator - Which one?
The underlying issue is that the shark started running real rough out of nowhere. I believe it is very lean. It idles rough and will barely move under a load. I have to constantly blip the throttle and ride the clutch just to get the car to go 5mph. I have parts to build an inline fuel pressure test...
