Re: Shop lift for home use

The lift has been multi tasking recently.
Some 2'' x 10'' and a wheel chock and the bike is at a nice height for oil change.

Re: Shop lift for home use

Jose/baders, I am planning to use a combination of wheel stands and/or jack stands for under vehicle access. Borrowed a stand (from a chassis jig) to get an idea what height of wheel stand I would need. Planning to get actual ones made up based on a flat base plate, 4 uprights and a recessed top pla...

Re: Shop lift for home use

Up and running now. Thought I'd start with a small car first. Baby steps and all that. Is the car sitting directly on the long blue plates of the rising part of the lift or some other kinds of pads? Sharkfan, It has rotating arms attached to the long blue plates which lift pad adapters can be slid ...

Re: Shop lift for home use

Hi Jose, I have now purchased a similar lift. Just got to fill up the hydraulic oil and connect the power. This arrangement will hopefully work out OK. I would have loved to get the full length (open centre) scissor lift but it was prohibitively expensive, more than 4 times as much !! I'm hoping to ...

Re: Shop lift for home use

Jose, How are you getting on with the lift ? I am looking at purchasing a similar lift due to space constraints. Also put off the open centre (center) style due to the additional cost. Was just wondering if you were able to use the high rise stands or does the lift structure get in the way ? Regards...

Re: Hydraulic Ramps!

Boggie,
Are these quite easy to move about and store when not in use ?
Was looking at various scissor lift/2 or 4 post lift for the garage but don't really have the space (or height) to utilise them.
4 off these ramps and axle stands might be a better option.
Regards,

Steve.

Re: How to prepare car for winter period

Janusz,
As you mention in your last paragraph.
Change oil and filter.
Wash, dry, wax. Overinflate tyres slightly. Fuel up to filler neck (remove ethanol and add fuel stabiliser)
Remove battery.
Cover car and place in Permabag. Put in desiccant containers and zip up.

Re: FS - UK RHD M635CSi #004

It will be interesting to see.... a) If it will appear on a dealers site for £50k. b) What figures #379 and #126, both higher mileage cars, will attain on November 25th. If they are close to the (early £20k) estimates then my feeling is that the genuine values of UK M635s (following some of the wil...

Which Alpina Touring? They're all pretty rare in the UK.[/quote] Sharkfan, Can't really remember too much about it. Didn't have it long. Think it was a C2 2.5 (wasn't the full blown 2.7) Don't even have any pictures of it. It was '91 (H plate) H101 BSP It sounded absolutely fantastic, that I do reme...

Welcome mirdif64, and compliments to you for demonstrating such exquisite taste when it comes to choosing your cars. Is the car new to you? You may know already, but I do believe it was originally registered with the numberplate "BMW635" Not really new to me. Had it since '94. It was orig...
