Re: Gertie Ready & M635 sale at Shannons

Hey Warren, I’ve learnt a lot by doing my builds. Mostly, I’ve learnt not to trust people. Bullship artists and rip-off merchants talk the talk way way better than an honest professional mechanic or race engine builder. So; • Qualify that you are using the right guys. My $3,500 engine swap saw the o...

Re: New Drive

I'd be in if you're in. Trying to get something a little closer to you as you seem to always travel the farthest. We could always hit the mountains and then that back road from Oberon to Goulburn. That was an incredible run last time. The old Taralga Road run. Would be close for Trev as well and the...

New Drive

You know that every time I say my car is ready, I end up engine out. But, September is a long way away, well at the least 8 weeks. And I have not caught up with the crew in a year or two. So how about the all German Day in Canberra, September this year. If my 633 is still in surgery I can bring the ...

It looks a little rough. Hard to tell in the light and with the quality of the photos. No engine bay shots. They may just want it gone. I think we are 10 years away from climbing like the e9's. I'm with Paul. Sight unseen the price is more than likely on the money.

My car is still going and I've been tinkering for the last 8 years. The last 3 have been very hard. I fought to get the car completed prior to my wife giving birth similar to your situation. My wife and I dropped my 3 year old off to his first day of kindy this morning. Post some picks. Let us take ...

I'm with Gaz, should not these catch cans pickup from the head and place captured oil down at sump level? These appear to be filters rather than catch cans. I'm amazed at all the water and suds you get in your catch/filter cans.

Excellent analogy, Ken. =D> But, unlike a boat, the day you sell your E24 is not the second happiest day. I've heard that sellers regret hits before the sale and that it really is a very sad day indeed. If you need parts, either Addam on the Gold Coast or my mate Dimitri who has 6 and is bre...

Re: A very expensive M6 at Bonhams auction

Based on an original as-tested price of $58,720 (per Car and Driver magazine in 1987), that amount would be equivalent to $125,524 in today's dollars, adjusted for CPI inflation. $95k, well it was as new as you can probably find, I swear it still smelled new...... wonder what the original purchase ...

Ebay had two being parted but gone now. There is a guy most Sydney 6'ers know called Dimitri who has 6 or more 6'ers. He may be parting one or two out as he too had an ebay add not long ago.

Re: Hartge H6 engine: 327bhp! on UK ebay

A Group A m30B34 spinning to 8000rpm makes 330hp. Honestly, I think the guy is full of shite. Look at the dyno graph. It makes hp to what, at the most 4000rpm??? Maybe 3500rpm??? and then drops off. A car that falls short on hp up to the upper rev range has a small cam and does not breath well. This...

Re: Merry Christmas to all - Feb 2017 drive

Dave G is sending down the shims. Car booked into the dyno for Wednesday week. Then I'll book in the drive, assuming the engine remains together and in one piece. If we are still making hp above 7750rpm, we may ring it to 8000rpm.
