Re: Rear window only goes down, never up
You might want to try cleaning the switch itself
After working on my passenger side motor, the window was still slow moving
But cleaning the switch with a quality electronic contact cleaner, it moves up and down as it should, now

It's my understanding that the color on all of that trim, regardless of model year, is Nogaro Silver

Tommy had a reinforcement done on his '89 in the rear after we added bigger bars
Well, one side, I think, as the right hand side would require removing the fuel tank, but so far, so good, IIRC

That doesn't sound correct, the later series 2 cars have bigger/wider fender flares than the series 1 versionLooks like (1) PN from 77-89
Not doubting you, but realoem isn't always correct

Nice steering wheel =D> Gently pull the rear of the panel down and then slide id back OK, I think that Bert was standing on his head when he posted this advice, as it's exactly opposite of how the front header panel is removed, presuming that it comes out the same way as series 1 cars :-k First you ...

Scott, I have a lot of blue touches under the hood, so that's why I painted the new M/CWhy did you decide to paint it? Most painted parts in a BMW engine bay are black.
Plus it's close to Bavarian blue

Re: M635csi SGS bonnet gas struts
sideshowbob, I had a similar situation wherein the bonnet would not pop up after releasing the hold down lever, even with new gas struts
I found that cleaning and lubricating the latch mechanisms on both sides that hold the bonnet down did the trick and it pops up as expected now

Oh, and your new M/C will likely be black, so you will need to paint it something else
Here's what I did, and don't laugh, that's Ford engine block blue
But nearly matches the Bavarian blue
You should be good to go for another 35 years with a new one

The real issue was, at each stop sign, the car would stop, but then the pedal would slowly, but clearly sink. I could pump it back up, bit there is definitely an issue.
