Could someone with cruise control fitted please post a photo of the actuator? I know it fits underneath the power steering reservoir but before I drill the holes for the new bracket I need the exact position.
Thanks. Ron.

Dribbling
Just put a NRV in the line from the pump to the washers. The BMW part has one line in/two out but I put a Halfords NRV in the line and used T-pieces to connect up to the jets.

Broken stud.
Hi Joe,I,ve got 3 studs (2 sheared and 1 seized solid) on the exhaust side of the head.I tried the mig and heating method and no way would it move.
I cut it off flush and helicoiled all 3.It's relatively easy with the head off.
I wouldn't like to try it in-situ.

Silicon hoses
Thanks for that,James. My existing hoses are not too bad but I will replace them.I'll keep the old ones as patterns in case we get enough interest to get some silicon ones made up.

Hi Dave,Reason for lifting head is two sheared exhaust manifold studs. Don't want to helicoil in-situ so need to lift head. Problem with the wiring is the big loom that runs from the injection loom conduit. This runs along the top of the head alongside the fuel gallery. The big loom comes out of the b...

Does anyone know if you can lift the head complete with inlet manifold??
It's a '89 Highline.
The ECU wiring runs between the manifold and the head and the multi-plugs are too big to fit through the gap!!
Looks like I'll have to struggle with the manifold nuts (a right PITA).

Looking very sad (at the moment).
Mainly stripped now and ready to make a start on the rebuild. Things to do: Replace front wings (having de-rusted inner wings etc.) Replace corroded air con./power steering/brake lines. Replace all drive belts/thermostat/distr.cap/rotor arm. Upgrade brakes to 750i master cylinder front calipers and ...

Change of refrigerant
Had mine done two weeks ago and it seems to work a treat. Basics are: 1.Remove any remaining gas using R12 rig. 2.Remove the schrader valves inside original charging valves. 3.Fit new adaptors to original charging valves. (the lower one is very close to the washer bottle) 4.Re-charge with R134 and, ...

Hi Drew, The pump for the h/l washers is on the washer bottle. There should be two pumps and the one nearest the engine is for the h/ls. Have obtained a WC 1000 relay and unfortunately due to the circuit wiring
it will only operate one window.I'm going to try a modification to get it to
operate both front windows (not together obviously).
Will try to do a Tech. on it.

Paseenger mirror
Some early Uk 6's had non-power passenger mirrors fitted. The loom was there but no motor!!!BMW's idea of saving money.Easy way to check is take the mirror off (triangular bit of trim and three screws) and see if the mirror has wiring attached.
