Re: Glovebox Flashlight

Thought I'd write to Maximilian Imports regarding the excessive shipping and they agreed ! Sadly, if they had any they would send one to me for shipping costs $10 or $15 US. Unfortunately, they don't have any and the listing is one of those items is still valid in the BMW parts system, but is NLA :(

Re: Glovebox Flashlight

Well it looks like my repaired glove box flash light has failed. Basically the plastic body has disintegrated. Is BamaE24 still around ? (Have PMed him). Are there any other sources of these flash lights ?

I've said it before and will say it again. You have to hand it to FCPEuro for service. In 5 years of dealing with them, they have not put a foot wrong for me. I recently ordered a temperature sensor from them an it took 5 days to arrive to my door...................at the ass end of the universe.

tmoretta if you're after one then I have a spare. I got a second one from Ron after the first was lost in the post, which then turned up much later (AusPost  ). Let me know if you want it and I will send it postage cost only.

Re: Ex LOCUTUS the fun and pain begin

Its 44 degrees C here today, but had to carry on with this job. Dismantled the carbon fibre plenum (once again) to gain access to the oil filter housing. Removed the housing to expose the block. Confirmed yes indeed there is an oil passage back into the sump that would have been short circuiting oil...

As before, this sensor is not needed for the engine to run. It simply reports it's signal to the diagnostic plug.

Song I have seen people adapt an E46 heater valve quite successfully for much lower price. Just an afterthought though as you've already ordered the valve.

Re: Thermostat and Pulse Generator(camshaft sensor)??

It's helpful if you put your car details in your signature. See below. It looks like the pulse sensor that feeds the diagnostic plug, and this is not needed for the engine to run.

Re: A/C Evaporator RHD

Thanks Nathan. Yes, this has been quite a haul. Three years since I took the M30 out and S38 in. Most of that has been with the car sitting up on the hoist and waiting for attention. As far as the evaporator, I would pull the old one to take a look first. At least you know what you are up for. Not m...

Re: 85' 635csi | Cranks but no Spark

Correct. They are the same part. Another question: Do I have 2 pulse generators / CPS? If so that means I'd need (3) of the above part number. 1 as reference sensor (bell housing) 1 as speed sensor (idk yet) 1 as pulse generator on the front of the engine I just ordered 2 as I'm not getting any res...

So while I'm waiting for the valve to arrive I've been trying to test the wiring for the valve. My car is a 1986 and the wires to the valve are brown/green (BN/GRN) and green /black (GRN/BLK). When ignition is on, and testing just the wires to the valve (but NOT connected) my readings are: Dial on ...
