Re: 1984 633CSi Rises again!

The bush in the BMW arm, the one with the green insert is a Meyle HD bush. These are like a half way house between stock rubber and full poly. They are available as inserts and they are generally regarded as a good upgrade (to rubber) - press in. I'm currently running these in Lemforder arms, which ...

Re: Are Front Control Arm Ball Joints Replaceable?

Should be able to - just need to find someone to do it. I did this (not me personally) no too long ago witch my centre drag link as the RHD versions are very scarce now. But consider replacing the oem steel for oem alloy. From memory the e39 or e34 lc arms are a direct swap.

Re: How to refinish this type of bench top...

It looks like what we commonly call 'chip-board" or "particle board". What to depends on what you use it for, and what you want to spend. Like others have said an epoxy, but not very forgiving. Can protect the edge by screwing on an aluminium flat bar and filling in the corner/ radius...

For some reason the manual uses 28mm - 11227805885, auto 22 -11220616143. Change your car to an auto on realoem to see. WN don't appear to list the 28mm.

Re: Fog light indicator socket absent?!?

I searched through photos from a few years back when I built my dash. Can see here, the pig-tail bulb holders that twist into the mica-board holes, though not very clearly unfortunately. From memory I went to my local auto electrician for these. (In case you're wondering I butchered a spare dash - o...

Re: Front Rotors

I ran a set of ebc dimpled and slotted rotors with red stuff pads for a while in an attempt to improve things as the stock setup is pretty ordinary. They were ok, but nothing spectacular.

Re: RHD Centre Drag Link

I installed the Delphi. PIA as access to the joint on the driver side is difficult, busting my splitter in the process. Alignment was then quite aways out even though tie rods were not altered, meaning the ball joint centres differ from the lemforder. Given these are now like hens teeth I got the fa...

Re: Fuel line replacement

I assume you mean the flexible lines. Most are 6x11mm so no, not standard and not imperial. Look on realOEM under fuel supply for your particular vehicle. Those connecting the fuel pump and filter are larger. I found fuel injection hose clamps don't cut into the hose like iubilee clamps

Re: Fuel line replacement

There are 3 vent lines running from the fuel filler neck to the expansion tank, visible below the rubber splash guard which is easily removed. Check these first s the most likely cause. Else fuel cap gasket or tank filler neck to tank connection. If none of these the external fuel pumps can and do s...

Re: Rain leak on driver’s side

I would reseal that main loom bulkhead grommet for starters. If that doesn't stop the water entry suspect the lower corners of the windscreen, especially if it has started to delaminate in these areas (going white). Either will likely result in water entering the ECU which you want to avoid.

Thanks for that. Nabbed that last one. When I get the current one out will see if I can' get it modded for next time. It's a bloody nuisance these crapping out after relatively low mileage. (Look at the price for this out of stock Meyle in Aus https://runautoparts.com.au/bmw-e24-e28-centre-tie-rod)
