Hi, Eric- Just a thought- in my experience when the temp and fuel gauges read funny it may be because the AA sized batteries in the SI board built into the gauge pod have gone to the Bahamas..... And I don't mean that in a good way to check out supermodels and get a tan. A company called Programa in...

Hi, John- If nothing turns up in the near term, I could help you out. I'm working on a project that I could provide (FOC, except shipping from Pt Roberts, WA)that dash portion you're looking for from a 1986 E24, but I would not be able to ship it until probably mid April. The dash has cracks and som...

Dave- I recently purchased an 88 635 from the second owner. It had the owners manuals and they were in a clear pocket vinyl folder. I would have to say this was original- as it had the 1988 BMW accessories folder and radio manual included. Kinda cheap considering the cost of the car when new. I foun...

I'll have access to all the harnesses and the ECU from the 88- will it be just a matter of taking the harnesses with the 88 engine into the 86 and...

Don't overlook the passenger compartment temp sensor- p/n 64111369828. I had the full heat all the time issue on my '86. After lots of messing around finally checked this sensor- and it was full of dirt and debris and one of the wires going to it was broken. You can check it using an ohm meter- sorr...

Use one of those inexpensive battery testers to check the battery cells. Dead cells, dead battery. Next, when car is running, use a multi-meter and check voltage at the battery. You should see 14.5+ voltage reading with the car running. If so, good alternator. If not, take the brush set out of the a...

Bring your plate or Handicap card that you hang from the rear view mirror. Plenty of H/C parking in Vancouver. You will do fine with rain proof jacket and tennis/running shoes. BTW- be warned- if you order iced tea from an eatery in Vancouver (including Wendy's) it will be instant (not fresh brewed) tea made with a ton of sugar and lemon.
